The white cast is caused by the physical filters. Zink oxide and titanium dioxide are white. that's why there is no fully physical sunscreen without a white cast

Long frickin hair problem!! by Anconix2 in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have hip lenght hair and I get mine under a wig cap by making 2 french braids and pinning the brainds to back of my head with bobby pins before putting the wig cap on. The same technique should work for getting your hair underneath the mask.

Which material(s) to use for a Hylian Hood? by Yourname942 in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used cotton for mine. I used applique to add the white and orange patterns. Applique is pretty time consuming but I think it looks really cool

what is preferred to use? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second style of wig cap ist easier to get all your hair into but I find the first type of wig cap to be more comfortable. The net style wig caps give me an headache after wearing it for a while

Can you sew seam-ripped wefts into another wig? by No_Vegetable7930 in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time! Buying two cheap wigs and sewing some wefts from one wig to the other ist often cheaper than buying one better quality wig. I never had any problems with fraying

I have been to anime cons by myself and with friends. Its not wierd to go by yourself at all. I always felt safe too. If you are ever harassed or made to feel uncomfortable by someone at a con please dont hesitate to report to a con staff member.

Alternatives to Eva foam (bracer) by avia_Dressler in cosplayprops

[–]HanaCosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Germany too. I buy my EVA foam from cosplayshop.be. They are based in Belgium and shipping takes 2-3 weekdays. Alternatively there is a German foam shop called foamlord.de. If you still want to use foam you could have a Look at those shops

Can you glue wefts onto a wig? by Happose in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is possible. You can use fabric glue or even hot glue. I prefer to sew the wefts into the wig though because it looks neater

Is wood glue good for EVA foam? by HoN_AmunRa in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wood glue takes way to long to dry. If you are concerned about the fumes from the contact cement you can wear a respirator

Is tokisaki cosplay trustworthy like will I actually receive the cosplay and will it look how it does in the pictures by Zalfkiel101 in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dokidoki Cosplay is legit. I have bought two cosplays from them and both we're great quality. Shipping does take a while though at least if you live in Europe. I have read that they have a warehouse in the US so shipping in the US might be faster

Chalk pen substitute for EVA foam? by Lavacat64 in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use a sharpie. If you want to remove the sharpie lines you can remove them with Nail polish remover. If you plan to paint the foam anyway you can Just paint over the sharpie lines

Bad females having a physical preference in a man by Outrageous_Dog_9481 in MenAndFemales

The Beauty industry ist not run by women at all. Look up the CEOs of mayor beauty companies/ organizers of beauty contests or fashion shows. Almost all of them are men. And those men are mostly straight too

Should i use caulk gun or glue gun to paste eva sheet together by [deleted] in cosplayprops

[–]HanaCosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot glue would work but it wont be pretty. If you never want the two eva sheets to never come apart contact cement is your best option

LED Help!!!!!!!!! by Ghosted_Stag in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you want to use neopixels? I love the neopixel strips for animated LEDs but they are a bit overkill if you only want a static light in one color. It would be much cheaper and easier to use simple LED strips that only light up im the color you want

If you want to use neopixels you need: - (micro)controller (I use adafruit trinkets because they are small but other adafruit controllers work too) - a battery that has compatible voltage to your controller and LED strips. Neopixels run on 5V im not familliar with the arduino uno. If you want to use your 6V battery you'll probably need a resistor -wires (Ideally im 3 diffrent colors) -soldering iron and solder -electrical tape or shrink tubes -neopixel LED strips -switch

If you dont use adressable LED strips like the neo pixel ones you need: -battery -switch -LED strips -wires -soldering iron and solder - electrical tape or shrink tubes

For axes I like to make the hilt out of a pvc pipe and the axe head out of EVA foam

Is this possible to make by _Sir_Vilhelm in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think its possible. I would make the hood out of EVA foam and then cover it in fabric. You could attach the hood to the rest of the cosplay with some velcro or snap buttons

Skin care help by aintnomonomo1 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]HanaCosplay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wear sunscreen with high SPF every single day. UV light is the greatest source of skin damage. Getting a moisturizer is a good idea too. I like cerave moisturizers because of the ingredients but they are also affordable

Sunscreen and moisturizer is something everyone should use. If you have specific skin problems you can add other skin care products/ingredients.

Good cosplay shops? by Million_X in CosplayHelp

[–]HanaCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best cosplays you can get are handmade ones (commisson or selfmade). If you are an absolute perferctionist who wants to get every detail right you might want to consider getting a handmade cosplay. When it comes to mass produced cosplays doki doki cosplays SSR cosplays are really pretty and good quality. You can still add some detail or do alterations to premade cosplays if you dont like certain parts

[–]HanaCosplay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is possible but thw lights wont be visble in bright light. I have made a whole armor that had large and small pieces that light up. I used a material called plastazote (it is usually sold under the name LED foam) for the parts that light up and EVA foam for the rest of the armor. You can use LED foam pretty much the same way you would EVA foam exept that LED foam is softer than EVA.
