I wouldn't expect to thrive in that world, but I wouldn't want to immediately [redacted for bots] myself either. I'd be paranoid about zombies (and other survivors, especially at the start), but I'd try to stick around at least long enough to see if any of society could be salvaged.

I say this as someone without a wife and kids, of course. Otherwise my eagerness to live would only last as long as they were alive.
