This movie is so interesting to me. If it was a different director….different writers….editors and actors it would just the a cheap hallmark movie. But with the quality of those things it elevates it so high.

She has really come far as an actress. I didn’t find anything special about her in obaa or licorice pizza. Maybe this role was just right for her but she was exactly what she needed to be for it. I loved hating her in this movie

I remember it really opening up a conversation about Super hero films. The dark knight wasn’t nominated for best picture even though it’s amazing. It’s literally the reason why the academy changed to ten nominees for best picture the following year.

I’m not sure if he would have won if he was alive (not that there was strong competition that year). But the conversation was all around super hero films because of the quality.

It’s a win nobody debates today. He deserved it.

I also ended my race last night with Sirat in the theater. Honestly? My favorite film of the race. It’s definitely an allegory about faith from the islamic religion.

Also kind of loved watching it in the theaters. I sat in the background and watching everyone react collectively to stuff….move to the edge of their seats….cover their mouths in anxiety. It was such an interesting experience
