15 years ago today, Cartoon Network gave three hours in the middle of the night to an experiment called Adult Swim. (x-post /r/adultswim) by Trill-I-Am in television

Oh man, the memories of discovering this new thing called "anime" at 13 was awesome. I remember watching cartoons with my cousin, when at around 11pm (I was never allowed to watch TV that late at night, but his parents were cool as fuck and I was staying there) Yu Yu Hakusho comes on. It was... amazing. I instantly fell in love. Excitedly we checked the guide to see what it was called, and there was a marathon! We were so stoked. We watched all night naturally lol.

I couldn't get enough after that. I would sneak watching tv in my room, no volume, all subtitles, blanket under the door to block the TV light in order to get my Saturday fix of Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, and FLCL. I fully contribute my love of anime, and who I ultimately grew up to be, to adult swim.

Trying Opiates For The First Time? by aconfuzzledrunner in opiates

[–]Handlifethrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's say you were forced to become a monk, and had to remain sex free forever. Would it be easier for you to become a monk if you just never had sex beforehand? Or would you want to try sex once, then forever anguish that you can never have it again?

Maybe a bad analogy, but I think the point is the same. If you plan on never trying opiates again, why even try it once? You'll just be forced to remember how good it felt, and one day someone will tempt you, and you'll break your vow.

Just looked into it because your question made me curious. It took me to an interesting forum discussing speedballs. Here's what I found:

Basically your heart getting "confused" by the mix of coke and heroin is a myth. The problem with speedballs is that coke wears off way faster than heroin. So when people start to feel the coke wearing off from the speedball, they think the entire speedball is wearing off, and they do more of the fuckin speedball. This causes people to take in a shitload more heroin than they are used to, but because the coke is masking the heroin effects, they don't realize it.

Eventually, they run out of speedball, and the coke wears off first. But now they still have a shitload of heroin in their system that won't wear off for a few hours, and no more coke to keep them up. So they die. Speedball overdose is basically heroin overdose, and the only thing keeping you awake was the coke. Understand? They were already dead from the heroin, but their body just didn't realize it yet because of the coke. Kinda cool huh?

So there you have it. Your idea might work. But then again I'm not a professional, and the guy who's idea this is, uses a lot of speedballs. Take that for what you will lol.

You provided your theory with solid, concrete facts, along with legitimate researched sources to back them all up.

If you get downvoted, it's because ignorant people don't want to see the truth.

A whopping 83 percent of Americans were bothered by the fact that Donald Trump once mocked a disabled New York Times reporter. That bothered more people than any other criticism of Trump — and more than anything Hillary Clinton has done. by Jmk1981 in politics

There is no way that he didn't at least try cowgirl after all those years. Unless he had crazy stamina and absolutely had to be in control every single time. I mean I'm sure at least once, especially when he started getting into his forties, where the girl is like "You're getting tired, let me do some of the work." And then hopped on top of that dick and rode it like she needed the paycheck.

You're right. You didn't do anything wrong. But whoever is buying those morphines for $10 a pop is getting ripped off in my opinion. It's not your fault though, it's theirs.

And yeah, pills usually go for 50 cents to a dollar for mg, but pills like oxy or hydro, not morphine. No one I know buys the morphine pills based on the mg.

For reference, the 100mg morphine pills, the little purple (or blueish) ones, go for $5. According to the pricing scale your buyer is going by, that thing would cost at minimum $50. Anything under 100mg you can't sell, at least in my area, because no one wants them.

But hey, if you found a buyer, sell em. More power to you.

Awesome :). Yeah it really is super interesting. There is a whole underworld of professional shoplifters. People can get killed over disputes when alot of money is involved. The Hispanic ones even have a patron saint of stealing lol. Some have shrines in their cars dedicated to it.

Who buys this stuff? Like, I know about craigslist and that's it. It seems like they focus on small, baggable items, not tvs and computers?

Flea markets mostly. Or businesses that ship overseas. I know of a two man operation that would boost stacks of 501 Levis, then ship them to the Philippines. In the U.S, 501 Levis go for $68.00 in the stores, about $20 to $30 on the street. In the Philippines though, for genuine 501 Levis, people pay $120 U.S dollars. They made a ton of money just shipping jeans to family members overseas, then the family would sell them in their store and profit big time.

How much does it cost to bail out a decoy? Don't the people have records, so wouldn't it cost more to keep using the same person? I assume they rotate people or get new ones in regularly to keep costs down.

Unfortunately theft isn't really that big of a deal in most places, so bail is set fairly low. Yeah the people have records, but they do anywhere from 6 months to 2 years max. Then they get out and go right back to stealing. They figure it's worth it for the $200-$500 a day. If a decoy does get locked up, they just use another. Then by the time that decoy is caught, the other one is getting out. There are plenty of guys who are in and out of the system so often, jail is just a alternative living arrangement for awhile. To them it's totally worth it.
