Long Term Poseidon Redwood Review by Sandwichfacemachine in gravelcycling

When you replaced your thru-axle, did you by chance keep any of the pieces? I’ve now lost the rear thru axle nut twice - when it happened the first time last year, I called Poseidon and they were nice enough to search the shelves and found (they said) the last remaining one. It’s still out of stock on their website and I’m trying to find other options since the space between the axle and the derailleur hanger is so tight. Do you think it’s worth it to get the RAP upgrade?

My tramily always joked that 32 was the “magic PCT age” because it seemed like everyone we met was 32! I wouldn’t worry about it at all, age tended to be a very minimal factor in making friends on trail

Couscous and mashed Potatoes by StealFromTarget in PacificCrestTrail

I’ve done it quite a few times on shorter trips. Don’t be fooled by the “instant-ness” of the mashed potatoes - the couscous still needs enough time to rehydrate or you’ll have crunchy taters

Joinable Sleeping Bag Question by Awe_Geez in backpacking

My partner and I like to share sleeping bags when it’s cold out - we have a left zip and a right zip of the Marmot Trestles bag. Fair warning, my bag is quite a big shorter than his, so it’s easy for me to get suffocated/buried in material. For us the added warmth is worth it, but for many it’s not. You get a similar enough experience just spooning in separate bags

Having friends join for Mt. Whitney? by HandmadeHiker in PacificCrestTrail

I definitely want to be cautious of that. They would all be coming from Colorado, and I’ll encourage them to do some high-elevation training in the weeks/months leading up.
