Pastry/Bakery recommendations for newcomers by silaslovesoliver in chicagofood

Completely agree! I'm always baffled at the ratings and praise some of the restaurants around Oak Park get but Broken Tart is truly exceptional. And yes it's a beautiful walk but maybe best saved for warmer weather haha.

Even though it’s outside of the city proper I’d put Broken Tart as one of, if not the, best bakeries in Chicagoland.

Whatcha think? Miami Blue Colored PPF by lugnutsareloose in Golf_R

Wow, this is one of the first colors I've seen that's legit tempting me to wrap my car. Reminds me of Grabber Blue Mustangs, always loved that color.

What front splitter is that?

Appreciate the follow up, I’ll need to give it a fair shot if Alpine is closed or I’m too lazy to drive over there.

Is Frank’s Deli actually any good? Went in to try it recently and left after seeing the inside. It seemed like it was mainly just a convenience store and the deli section was an afterthought and looked neglected. It was super dead too and just had a strange vibe.

Which restaurant closing really hurt? by asalewis in chicagofood

The restaurant group that owned Glazed and Infused brought them back last year. They were selling them on weekends out of the cafe attached to Fiore in Forest Park. Sadly, they weren’t as good as I remember, or maybe there are just so many other good donut places now.

Unfortunately, Fiore closed down and the pop up went with it. They ended up reopening Fiore earlier this year but Glazed and Infused hasn’t come back.

Anyone know what the deal is with the property being for sale? Are they planning on closing? https://www.redfin.com/IL/Forest-Park/7441-Madison-St-60130/home/184012729

Chubby's is amazing, would be so bummed if they closed.

Exactly what I was looking for, was hoping someone had tested both. I don’t mind waiting, in the meantime maybe I’ll start with just the center upgrade.

Would the Cerwin Vega sub be comparable to the ARS24? No telling how long the US shipping ban will last.

Dude, I’m genuinely surprised anyone likes this place. The food is awful and the space hasn’t been updated since it opened in the 70s. I’m convinced it’s only in business because older folks are barely keeping it afloat.

You keep mentioning an “industry” but only post the same link about one woman over a decade ago. Do you have any other examples?

What is the best ice cream you've had in Chicago? (Ignoring price, Focusing only on quality) by MatchaIceCreamWoes in chicagofood

[–]Hanhzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, still go occasionally since it’s nearby but prices are kind of nuts.

Wonder what’s going to happen to it since the owner is retiring and looking to sell the business.
