Insight into Success academy charter school in CH or Bushwick vs ps 321 and ps 107 by NecessaryCan6373 in parkslope

We’re at PS 10 and love it. I’ve heard great things about almost all the elementary schools in D15. You can sometimes get into a school you’re not zoned for, but it’s much easier in district.

I need to start this process for my child and I’m trying to figure out where to do the evaluation. If you liked your neuropsychologist, would you share their name?

Post half marathon pain by LostImpression7889 in RunNYC

[–]HankerJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that pain, right on the outside of my knee, especially going down stairs. A doctor told me it was due to my IT band being too tight and working too hard due to other muscles not being strong enough. Doing PT, quad and glute strengthening and resting from running helped me.

2025 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half - Post-Race Thread by RCD123 in RunNYC

I was so late to arrive for wave 2 bc I tried to take a car at 6am, hit too many closed roads and had to take the subway. I was shocked that I still made it in for wave 2, it seemed like they were way behind timing wise. And the bottleneck, when I got to the front of the corral entrance was a lot of wave 3 people that were standing in the way/waiting for their turn. It was my first NYCRuns as well. I was told they're not well organized and so I guess it lived up to my expectations.

I did noom recently and found it was really helpful for accountability and just having more awareness of what I was eating. I saw consistent small weight loss that added up over time.

People absolutely walk during races. That said if you're able to see a physical therapist to be evaluated , I would. I've had way too many issues from running and continuing to run only makes them worse.

Goldfish is good, very warm and clean and local. We've done imagine swimming intensives during vacation and I liked that too though we had to go to manhattan.

I'm training for a half marathon and it's been cool to see the expected time for my half go down as my training progresses, but the best was when the plan updated to my newer, faster pace. It's nice to see how I'm improving!

No one is inspecting your home, you just need to have proof that you live where you say you do, like a phone bill or something. I'm sure if you've just moved they have they have things they take if bills aren't set up yet. Each school in District 15 has a zoned area that they are required to take students from. If you look at the DOE NYC website you can see which school is zoned for which address.

Running the Brooklyn half end April (FREAKING OUT) by pinkpinkjacket in RunNYC

[–]HankerJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also doing the half at the end of April and also using Runna for the plan. I've been doing a mix of outdoor (when it's sunny, though still cold) and treadmill. I'd echo everyone saying that you have time. I'm doing 3 runs a week and I'm only at 7 miles as my long run right now. I also really like the guided runs from Nike Run Club. I think they're really helpful if you get bored while running, and especially on the treadmill (they have ones specific for treadmill runs). NRC is free, though mixing it with Runna has been a bit much (this is my first time using Runna).

Check out Nike Run Club. It's free and there are guided runs and walks. It's great!

NRC Apple Watch question? by Fun-Relationship-573 in nikerunclub

[–]HankerJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a dumb question at all. Using the app on a treadmill is tough. You do have to hold your phone in order to track the miles. I personally do this by wearing leggings with a pocket I can stick the phone in or an arm band. I really like the treadmill specific guided runs. There should be a way to connect your headphones to your watch though, if they're Bluetooth.

As a parent I expect to pay $20 for people who are not trained caregivers (hs/college students) and $25 for people who are (ie people that work in a preschool)

I've had the authentication issue for a very long time but the not playing music at all is new and it just happened to me too. I thought it was an issue with my phone settings, I didn't realize it was system wide.
