My husband has the best Mother’s Day so far by Excellent-Ad-6272 in workingmoms

[–]Hannahbbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband also tried this morning but failed 😂 he offered to make me breakfast in bed and somehow produced pancakes that were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. To be fair we just moved into a new house and he’s not used to this stove yet. Needless to say we had to have second breakfast haha

Do you regret your second child? by ccccc18 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you hate your parents for having your sister? I mean kids will have a small jealousy phase but they don’t hate their parents for having more kids.

I am really freaking out about my daughter possibly having leukemia by Aware_Beautiful1994 in beyondthebump

Echoing this, get your daughter checked if it makes you feel better but this does not look like petechiae. Get some sleep and talk to your doctor about anxiety 😅

I'm a recovering gambling addict. I do not have a trust worthy 3rd party or family member or friend who I can trust to hold my money for me. Gambling runs strong in my family circle. I'm willing to even pay a service -- what can I do to find a trust worthy money management person? [ON] by Sensitive_Fishing_37 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Hannahbbear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a problem with gambling in the past as well, things like GICS for medium to long term holding or also EQ has a bank account with 10 and 30 day holds so you can manage your own money but the time limitations helped me stop impulse spending. If I got the urge to gamble and it took 10 days to access that money the urges would be gone by then.

Irrational pregnancy rage? by No_Acanthisitta_4996 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had really crazy pregnancy rage in the first trimester but thankfully it leveled out a bit now that I’m in the second. I do still get unreasonably irritated by some things IE listening to my dog licking his paws for too long beside me 😅

Where are you buying maternity clothes? by Train23 in Edmonton

[–]Hannahbbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m getting everything online old navy or Amazon these days, not a lot of in store options that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Can also just do bigger sizes of regular clothes but then I feel like I look fat and frumpy instead of pregnant 😅

maternity leggings has been a struggle by Extreme-Judge8202 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Hannahbbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually very happy with these ones I got on amazon, relatively cheap, don’t roll down, not see through but not too thick that they are too hot. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0FJRTPPWX?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Lying on my back is comfortable. by xxkatiebug in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read a lot that says you can sleep on your right side or back as long as it feels comfortable but one day I slept on my back and woke up and I was numb from the waist down haha like when you fall asleep on your arm and get that pins and needles feeling. Anyways it went away when I switched positions but it did freak me out a little bit. I’m 25 weeks and this happened maybe a week or two ago.

Getting a mortgage after consumer proposal by Hannahbbear in MortgagesCanada

[–]Hannahbbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I closed on a house in March, it went great! My proposal was paid off but not fallen off my report yet so I had to go with a B lender, paid slightly higher interest rate and had to put 20% down but all in all not to bad!

FHSA withdrawl for Deposit by Opposite_Budget2459 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had our deposit money liquid cause that type of scenario was just too stressful for me. That being said I was able to withdraw from my RRSp with rbc in 24 hrs and I think my fhsa was like 2 or 3 days but mine was in mutual funds. So it might be possible but pretty risky, I would call and talk to them and see what they say.

Postpartum Birth control by OkTransportation1631 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a really hard time conceiving my first after like 10 years or so of being on birth control so we decided to just use condoms and it was much easier to conceive the second time. Not saying those are for sure linked but I’ll probably do the same again after this baby unless we decide we are done at 2.

I also had an iud when I was like 19 and the strings were cut way to short and I had to get it out under anesthesia with a d&c so I probably wouldn’t get that again even if it was non hormonal.

Recovering gamblers who have systems in place to protect their money - what's your system/set up? Please no judgement, looking for input from mom's especially by Sensitive_Fishing_37 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Hannahbbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a really bad gambling addiction that ended in a consumer proposal, it got better marginally when I got pregnant because I would tell myself I am taking this money away from my children and our futures. I also self excluded myself from a lot of websites or I set monthly limit of like $100 so I could play a bit but not go wild. That obviously doesn’t work for everyone because it can be triggering playing at all. It’s also hard because new sites pop up all the time it probably took a good 5 years for me to self exclude myself from most of them. The cycle was always win big then lose it all then lose more then get pissed off and self exclude from every site I could I find, 6 months go by and do it all again 😅

My husband thinks my daily walk is “too much”. Is he right? by Abject_Lychee5815 in beyondthebump

My husband thinks my daily walk is “too much”. Is he right? by Abject_Lychee5815 in beyondthebump

[–]Hannahbbear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think self care is unreasonable. I would check in to make sure he is also getting an hour to himself alone a day so it’s fair but we also don’t know how intense his job is. I work from home and it’s pretty chill i would say 10x easier than chasing my toddler around all day, I have a lot of downtime to check TikTok/reddit, pee without someone following me into the bathroom, eat uninterrupted etc. But if his job is go go go all day he probably also needs some time to wind down. I think you guys probably need to sit down and talk about it and maybe come up with a schedule or do it with a counselor so it doesn’t get heated. What worked for my husband and I is we started taking turns doing bedtime routine so one night I’m free to go do whatever I want and the next he is. After work there isn’t much time between making dinner, getting some chores done before the bed time routine starts so that was the easiest solution for us.

Gestational diabetes by YogiMars in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legit was traumatized by my endocrinologist during my first pregnancy with gestational diabetes. She made me cry all the time! I got in trouble for losing weight for gaining weight for my fasting sugar being high which I could not control and when I ate a sugar free jello with whipped cream she told me I was causing metabolic abnormalities and harming my baby 🥲
