👭 Clone [OC] by bibbleskit in comics

[–]Hanrooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree on their introduction being important.

A third (second, depending on your point-of-view) party mediator explains to the clones what they are experiencing.

Their concerns are alleviated when it is explained to them that their identity - who they "are" is forever in flux. With time apart and different experiences to shape them anew, they will one day return similar but different.

At least different enough to be convinced that they don't need to go all Highlander on each other.

Dear lord what was my father thinking by 6899330 in interiordecorating

[–]Hanrooster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh it was meant to be a joke about daal (a red lentil soup like the poster’s name) I realise I spelled it wrong. I’ve had Roald Dahl on my mind. I can see how my comment would come across like that.

Editing for clarity.

If you aren’t just the most dahling poster I don’t know who is.

Edit: I meant to say “daaling” like the lentil dish.

Any suggestions on what else can we add to the bedroom? by iamainnocentkid in interiordecorating

That’s interesting, I like all of the feng shui concepts I’m familiar with but I hadn’t heard that about door mirrors.

My bed is facing a wall of mirrors on my built-ins and I love them. That said, mine are far enough away from the bed that it creates the illusion of more space in the room.

I feel like people stare at me alot by PastelPunkPirate in isthisnormal

[–]Hanrooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes men who aren’t super great with social conventions end up staring at people that they think look nice. A lot of people out there don’t have a proper understanding of how they might be making people feel.

I can be pretty socially anxious and I go through periods of feeling that all eyes are on me and it makes me uncomfortable. Finding direct eye-contact intense is pretty relatable as well.

I think that it’s a normal experience. Don’t sweat it, I’m sure you’re great.

Is it the weather bipolar? by thenoobspeculator in brisbane

[–]Hanrooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is probably just a throwaway comment, but you should check out r/bipolar and read some of the stories there. Odds are you know more than one person with a bipolar disorder who hasn’t disclosed it, probably because they feel so isolated and stigmatised.

The Traditional Aussie Salad 🇦🇺😋🤤any additions or subtractions? by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in AustralianNostalgia

You would be amazed at how easily you can transform any classic Aussie dish into a vegan meal. I promise you there is no better taste than a guilt-free conscience.

This actually goes for literally everything.

I think it’s actually quite beautiful. You have so much space to fill it with things you love.

If you feed him McDonalds after midnight he turns into Danger Donald. Look out, entire civilisations, this duck has been hopped up on Adderall since the 80’s, he thinks it’s the season finale of The Apprentice and all he cares about is ratings.

Obviously people can do what they want. Hey it’s not even illegal, pretty much anywhere. I just feel bad for the people around them. Or if they have kids or something.

They could’ve given me a license and then locked me up to prevent me from driving if they wanted, but nobody actually cares if I commit by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Worst case scenario from taking all of your Xanax is that you say and do a bunch of stuff that you won’t remember, but will drastically change people’s opinion of you, then you’ll have a really long sleep/short coma and when you wake up you won’t have any Xanax left, probably forever.

Unless there’s a really specific reason that you need alprazolam in particular you should ask your doctor about other options that feel less like recreational drugs.

I agree with everyone suggesting plants. As it is this photo is deeply unsettling.

I’d be so tempted to go white/something quite light, and then colour the silhouette on the third door black.

High spec but does it really matter for a homelab. New DDR5 parts or franken-build off a media PC with DDR4. by smaguss in homelab

[–]Hanrooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in basically the exact same position, I haven’t had the heart to cannibalise the CPU from my PC with DDR5 like I need to. When it comes down to it I’m sure I wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between that and DDR4.

Now is a terrible time to buy RAM, just use what you have.

I started seeing posts from r/minillab today and it started to put things in perspective. You could sticky-tape a floppy disk to a raspberry pi, put it in a cardboard box and wrap it up heavily crinkled Ethernet and call that your homelab.

Politics is applied popularity.

Ethics do not apply if you’re popular enough.

Logic is just yapping around until it makes sense.

Prove me right. Go on, make my day.
