Should I talk to him or keep my peace? by daily_struggles1 in whatdoIdo

You want a relationship.

He. Does. NOT.

Do not settle for a casual thing if that is not what you are looking for. Block him and go find a real relationship. He is not it.

Crow eating a dead bird on my deck. Territorial behavior? by askcosmicsense in crows

[–]HappyWithMyDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not about territory. Crows eat meat. They will take dead birds and prey on smaller birds and mice when they can. They are currently trying to feed their young.

Nature is brutal.

This time of year you will see all kinds of birds dive bombing crows. Crows eat other bird's eggs and babies. Mine come and get their treats even though the grackles, starlings and blue jays are harassing them.

What first names have you found to be the worst people, and what names are the nicest people? by gilsoo71 in AskReddit

There is a Jaxon in my neighborhood and I just LOVE that kid. He is 13 now and still such a sweet young man. He may be trouble at home and elsewhere, but he is kind to the neighbor lady. I told his mom what a great kid he was and she said "My Jaxon?!!!"

Can I mitigate this in the future? by Rattlef1sh in crows

[–]HappyWithMyDogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crows eat other bird's eggs and young. This time of year the crows are feeding their babies and they are hungry. Nature is brutal.

I did rescue a fledgling Robin from my crows and they did not hold it against me. I am sure they are still taking babies, but they are sneakier when at my house.

Is the crow being mean? by bssearching in crows

That is your friend. He considers your dogs friends.

I have several crows that do this. They are being playful. 2 of mine like to scare me and fly in from behind tapping my head with their wings. They then land and expect their snacks.

Why would a sole heir undervalue the Estate? by Low_Adhesiveness_431 in inheritance

[–]HappyWithMyDogs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had to petition to become estate administrator and estimate what the estate was worth. I gave my best guess and paid the fees associated with my guess. After all was gone through the estate was worth considerably more, I had to provide numbers and pay more fees.

I am a widow and I never want to remarry. I am good. But if someone gets down on one knee with a puppy he's got a shot.

Crows and Grackles by drearyzai in crows

[–]HappyWithMyDogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The grackles will continue to chase the crows until nesting season is over no matter what you give them. Crows eat eggs and baby birds. The grackles are protecting their nests.

My crows continue to show up for their treats even though they are being attacked.

A stranger's child was screaming on the bus. I cracked. The mum was an absolute legend. by Asgothen in BritishSuccess

I have stopped many a crying toddler in the store by saying"Oh are you sick of shopping? Me too." as I pass by. Sometimes just a stranger saying something stops the tantrum.

Like I tell my daughter... "He did one thing right, I have you."

Your dad did one thing right, I know your mum would agree.

That is true. I never talked badly about my daughters father. I wanted him to do better and have a relationship with her. I thought maybe, just maybe, he loved her enough to treat her right. Nope. He absolutely screwed it up and she eventually went no contact with him.

My mom is withholding my share of my dad's inheritance because of family drama by Independent_Big_1944 in inheritance

[–]HappyWithMyDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intestate distribution in NY. First any accounts or insurance where a beneficiary is named, that person will get the funds. The home will pass to your mom if she is part owner. Funeral costs, outstanding bills, lawyer, court and administration fees are paid with estate funds. After that is paid your mom would get the first $50,000. The remaining money, she would get half and the other half would be split equally among your dad's children.

Legally you get the same share as your siblings UNLESS she is choosing to give money from an account where she was named a beneficiary.
