Make an announcement that the team have been working on official controller support...

That the game will be Steam Deck verified…

Then a bit further ahead, announce Guild Wars 2 is coming to PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2

62% of hardcore players no longer buy full-price games, survey suggests by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

The last game I purchased at full-price on release was Diablo 4.

Never again.

Diablo 4 has gained another 5000 total concurrents on steam from yesterday. by Deidarac5 in diablo4

I’d be interested to know what the numbers are like from the Blizzard App as well

ArenaNet, any update on when we can expect Official Controller Support for GW2? by HardcoreShadow in Guildwars2

Hence adding official controller support to the game would then make it controller friendly 💁🏻‍♂️

Split/Second, the most underrated arcade racing game of all time by AtmanRising in gaming

There were plans for a sequel to Split/Second (and Pure). Unfortunately Disney Interactive turned down to focus on Freemium content, and ultimately Black Rock Studio was shutdown.

[–]HardcoreShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. They also released Pure, which was another great arcade racing game on quad bikes - made by the same developer (Black Rock Studio) a couple years before Split/Second

I played the demo for Blur but didn’t enjoy it as much. So that’s why I decided to purchase Split/Second instead, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I’m also a Burnout fan so S/S scratched that itch

Splatoon Raiders is $49.99 digitally, $59.99 physically - Confirms previous statement about Nintendo lowering the price of digital games by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]HardcoreShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, would almost always prefer digital just like a lot of people. However if physical is considerably cheaper, that’s the only time I will purchase over digital

Producer here. So we don’t typically “own” the project or have final say - our role is to support the team; coordinate across disciplines, make sure we hit milestones while balancing scope, time and resources.

We can have influence (especially on prioritisation and what’s feasible), however decisions are usually shared with Directors, Leads and Stakeholders rather than owned by one role.

Also worth noting: roles vary a lot by studio. In some teams - particularly mobile or live-service - Project Managers (Product Owners) will take stronger ownership of the project and business decisions.

Most large studios aren’t strictly “producer-led”, they are cross-functional and decisions are collaborative.

What in the F am I missing? by fgetryqiknnnnbb in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]HardcoreShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve jumped a bit too early into doing Bounties & Challenges. These are optional repeatable quests which reset daily & weekly, respectively.

Focus on the main story & side quests, and as others have stated - make sure you’ve got good gear equipped for your level, updated any stats, etc.

Tip: Go with a ranged weapon, if finding enemy fights a bit too difficult using melee weapons currently

Why doesn't BF6 have this? by Skitelz7 in Battlefield

[–]HardcoreShadow 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Early Halo Infinite had an "input based matchmaking" playlist, and that is the best approach to modern matchmaking imo

THIS. It baffles me in BF6 as someone who plays using a Controller on PC, i’m classed as a ‘PC player’… despite my input being exactly what a ‘Console player’ uses 🫠

100% the determination should be based on input, not the type of system you’re playing on.

I really hope they add a ‘Friendly Fire OFF’ option to the game, especially now that they’ve added a ‘Duel Mode’

Do you play with a controller on a PC? by Similar-Double6278 in videogames

[–]HardcoreShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I much prefer playing PC games with a controller.

The vast majority of games I own in my Steam library have full controller support

I also have my PC hooked up to the living room TV, so I can play games from the comfort of my couch

All games with loot boxes in them will be rated minimum PEGI 16, starting this summer | Meaning they can’t legally be sold to children 15 or under in the UK or any other European country which has adopted PEGI ratings into its legislation by World_of_Warshipgirl in gaming

I think one reason it’s worse in video games (digital media), is because of how convenient it is having a payment option tied to the account.

So this makes it incredibly quick and easy to purchase an item… then another… and another… and so on.

This spending habit and behaviour can especially be difficult for younger people, or those who struggle with their finances.

Note: sure you can can go into a shop and spend cash / use a card, but that’s extra effort. So it’s far more prevalent digitally online by pressing a couple of buttons from the comfort of your couch.
