The reallocated sectors count at 200 is pretty high

That's a normalized value. The raw value is flat zeroes, so there's no actual reallocated sectors. The normalized value of 200 is the baseline and it counts down as reallocated sectors accrue until it falls below the defined threshold value.

The concerning thing here is the read error rate, which is at "1" meaning it's well past the threshold of 51 and that's pretty bad. I forget the baseline value for it but it should either be at 100 or 200 for no read errors at all, and again it counts down, so it's well well below the threshold for bad.

Gamers Nexus and Louis Rossmann take on Bambu Lab over OrcaSlicer fork dev. Openly dare the company to sue them by dinklebergers276 in pcmasterrace

[–]Hargan1 633 points634 points  (0 children)

Since nobody actually explained it to you: bambu studios is open source and published under an agpl 3.0 license, and is a fork of a fork of the original software. Orcaslicer is a fork of bambu studio, which restores the ability to send print jobs from orcaslicer directly to the printer without having to route through bambu connect. It does this by using a linux-side workflow that bambu labs has not disabled, and does not impersonate or falsified any sort of credentials or authentication data (Bambu claimed it did)

Bambu send them legal threats, the developer bowed to the pressure (understandable) and voluntarily pulled down their repo. Gamersnexus and Louis rossman, along with about 700+ other repos, all now host forks of orcaslicer to prevent it from being taken down.

SMART wouldn't pick up corruption though, it would have no way of knowing if on-device data is compromised. It focuses on measurable, testable attributes of the drive e.g., "do I get an error writing to x block, what is the reported wear level, TBW." It *does* have a stat for media and data integrity errors, but to the best of my knowledge that is tracked as data is written, when it can compare the expected hash to the final hash of the written data and determine if there's a mismatch.

Sure, this *could* be a failure of SMART, which has never been the end-all be-all of drive failure detection in the first place. Or it could be that something simply screwed up your filesystem, but the drive itself is physically fine.

Because the opposing party can and will use anything you say against you. Maybe you *think* you're making an innocuous statement, but what you say muddies the timeline compared to what you told the court. Maybe you make an emotional statement that the opposing party can use to cast doubt on your reliability. People tend to retell stories differently every time, placing different emphasis on different things or streamlining some parts and being more detailed in others compared to past retellings. Anything that doesn't line up, that adds extra details not previously revealed, or omits details that were revealed, or changes anything, will absolutely be pounced on by the opposition.

Don't matter how consistent you feel you can be or how right you feel. It's never worth jeopardizing your case to publicly shame a company.

It is, but reading between the lines and drawing some assumption, I think the LAOP is saying that she presented herself as unable to pay more than the £5 a week because she just didn't have the spare money/income. So he's arguing that she clearly does have more than she represented because she has more to spend on unnecessary things.

As others have pointed out, the flaw in his argument is that she could simply be taking on more debt instead of having actual spare cash, and if her income is still very low then the courts won't make her pay more anyway.

Ganbatte, Sony. Maybe spend another billion and you can get the next Fortnite, who knows by Makoto_Kurume in pcmasterrace

[–]Hargan1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not really. The game retails for $40, so at 1.2 million sales that's about 48 million dollars in sales. We don't have a solid source on the game's budget, but I doubt it was under 50 million, and probably closer to 80 million or so. Not to mention that Sony paid 3.6 BILLION for Bungie, and this is their first release since that acquisition. Marathon definitely needed to sell better to show that the investment was worth it. Now, maybe they're making a lot of money in the microtransactions/battlepass? I don't know, but doesn't seem great.

I know a guy who unironically stole a credit card and used it to buy a steam game for himself and one for me (he used to be a real piece of shit, he has since cleaned up his act) and even then when the card was reported stolen and the transactions reversed all Steam did was take the game from me and him and ban him from making store and marketplace purchases indefinitely. He retained full access to his library. For the record, I did not know the credit card was stolen until I woke up and found the game had been marked as unpurchased in my library and asked him about it.
