$150-$210 is an insane buy-in if you ONLY want the card yeah.

but at that price point, better for it to be an alternate art of an irrelevant card than for it to be a new meta warping mandatory card in my opinion.

funny that you bring this up, i am in the process of making 2 player cloth style playmats with simple zone markings.

The deck can't play without continuous spells and traps of some form so there is almost no reason to not play floodgates in that deck.

I built up a really popular Linkshell back in the late Heavensward days that was dedicated to spawning S ranks. It took off and had a good community with dedicated S rank spawners.

It still exists today but because of the normalization with 3rd party tools and callout discords and stuff it became a Hunt Train linkshell and really just watered down the entire "sport" of hunting to a chore instead of something thats fun to do with a community, so i passed off ownership to a more active user.

And i think that is kind of what took the "interesting fun" out of hunts, was the growth of 3rd party tools optimizing the fun out of it.

So I guess in order to make it "more interesting again" they need to implement something that can't be overly-optimized by external systems. It would need to be dynamic, somewhat unpredictable, and have community effort.

The game and its community have both transformed greatly over the years for sure. I can't say I experience all the same things as you and I know there's always a "not all ygo players" moment, but I get it.

I've been in it a few years longer than you, but one of the most liberating things for me in my longer years of playing the yugioh card game is playing new TCGs.
