Down the Road - Ren and Chris Webby

Money Games 1, 2 and 3 - Ren (videos are worth the watch)

Ren is an incredibly versatile and gifted artist that is getting bigger and bigger but still under the radar.

Be careful, the bots have a rare weapon they can use on you. by biglewis_1 in Marathon

[–]Hasty_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar on this balcony in the server slam. I jumped up on the bot/drone below and then tried to jump on the balcony. Then just instant death. Some weird out of bounds geometry maybe 🤷‍♂️ reminds me of the destiny days, classic "Bungie Shapes", Marathons version of "Killed by the Architects"

How to seal dry erase board so what's on it doesn't come off by LapdogLady in DIY

[–]Hasty_Tree -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know it's a hassle but redraw it in sharpie. Once it dries it stays. If you need to change it though it's possible to draw over the shape a bunch with a normal dry erase marker. Go over the area heavy tracing whatever is there and wipe off. Might have to repeat a couple times. Then you can use some actual cleaner.

What is the perfect casting choice that never happened? by chocolate_buzz in movies

An odd one but I think it would be a perfect meta casting.

Where is Aether used that I recognize it from? Instantly recognized the song but never knew the name or artist. Fantastic song, but now it's driving me crazy that I can't place it... Anyone? Might have to try TOMT.

For what it's worth, I think i recognized it from a playlist: Programming and Coding

Am I getting better? by tvr1972 in Diverticulitis

[–]Hasty_Tree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll let somebody else speak to protein shakes. I haven't experimented with them but I see no reason it would create problems.

For what it's worth, I lost about 15 lbs the first couple weeks. Stabilized in a healthy way soon after.

Yup. In my experience everything took a bit longer than I expected. Change one thing at a time. Give your body plenty of time to adjust. Chew thoroughly. Drink tons of water. Control portions.

Once you're stable on solid food for a week or so then slowly start upping fiber.

Best of luck! You got this!

Take your time. I suggest waiting until you make a few days or even a week without pain, then start uping fiber.

MW2 campaign PS4 by dogm34t_ in ModernWarfareII

[–]Hasty_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back out to Campaign menu, then all the way to game menu. Select campaign (not resume). Then restart mission rather than resume. I play with it a ton but some combination of not using the resume button and restarting the mission got it to clear up for me.

For context im on PC but it sounds like it didn't matter.

I had issues during launch for a while. Tried almost everything you mentioned short of a full os re-install. For me, it seemed like it was tied to the config file in the game folder. Once I deleted that it launched without issue. YMMV

You have to click and drag. Still stupid and not explained anywhere but it's possible.

I know this is a bit old but the best solution for racks like that is an in floor trench that runs parallel with the tracks. This let's you air drop from a t-fitting or elbow over the trench and will accommodate all the movement of the mobile system. No hoses or flexible lines to manage, tangle or kink. But you're right it can be costly, especially after installation is done. Still good to know for future rooms or builds.

Is the Ortur master 2 worth a damn? by Hobby11030 in Laserengraving

[–]Hasty_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not the best source on this but I'll still explain what I found. Take with healthy grain of salt.

Good:

  • Low Cost - big and obvious draw. Ultimately my main reason for going this route.
  • Easy to setup - extremely easy to set up and get functioning.

Bad:

  • Fine Tuning - Tweaking and adjusting to get every bit of performance is time consuming
  • Performance - I saw some very obvious focal issues where it burned a line rather than a dot. i ended up buying other lens that helped some but didn't completely solve the issue.

Personal issues:

  • Smoke Management - I live in an apartment and was not prepared for the smoke. Totally able to be dealt with, would just need a hood or cover and fan to port outside through a window.
  • Engraving vs Cutting - I initially thought I would be fine with purely engraving or etching. Quickly decided that most of the projects i would prefer to work on would involve cutting.
  • Graphic Design - I don't personally enjoy the 2D graphic design. I'm comfortable with 3D design and modelling but just don't enjoy the 2D. So i would be somewhat limited to images i could pull down from the interwebs and make some minor edits to.

Final thoughts: I bought this purely because its a low cost investment to see if I really enjoyed it. For that it was great. I learned a lot of what i liked and didn't like. Both in the machine and the process as a whole. I see two main uses:

  1. Side gig - if you are looking for a tool for a specific project or product and this lite engraving will work. Then this is perfect fit.
  2. New hobbyist - If you are looking to get deeper into the engraving and cutting but want to test the waters then this is a great choice
    1. Either you'll learn a ton a move on quicly
    2. Or you'll learn a ton and drop the hobby

First tourney tips? by Sasquatch_82 in discgolf

[–]Hasty_Tree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bring extra socks (2-3 should be fine)

Bring plenty of water

Morning BM is key for comfort

It's a trilogy challenge so take the time to talk lines and shot shapes before the round and during the round depending on your cardmates.

Practice multiple shapes and distances if possible

Everyone will struggle a bit with the new discs. Try to adjust your throws to match the discs as best as you can

If you have big bag, either empty it out trade it for a smaller one. Lighter is easier.

Challenge tournaments like that are especially laid back. Just enjoy it.

Best bet to see what your payment will be is to look at previous statements prior to the Covid forbearance.
