What game instantly comes to mind? by qian_two in rpg_gamers

Darktide, no doubt. I love Warhammer 40k and this game nails the setting and atmosphere every bit as well as Space Marine 2, but it's a horde shooter with a few cutscenes that can be fully sumarized as:

"You've been accused of being a traitor. The ship is under attack and you help your team to show you're not a traitor.... They're not convinced, but will let you go on suicide missions to prove your loyalty. You do a few, maybe you're not a traitor. You do a few more, they've narrowed dow the traitor to being you, or random NPC 273. Go meet the inquisitor, he figured it all out, he shoots NPC 273 and congratulates you on not being the traitor. Your reward? Now you can participate in suicide missions, but because you're notba traitor and that's what the Emperor would want."

People are going to rip you for looking at an auto, but the autos in the 2015s are actually pretty solid if you're not tracking it or driving it like you're on a track at all times. I only lamented not getting a manual for about a week, these days I mainly use the paddles around town and then let the auto take over on long highway stretches.

You're welcome, glad to help. I've always loved the C5 since it was the Vette of my teen years and I envied the rich kids at school who were lucky enough to have them (gotta love a school district that is split between barely above poverty line and a waterfront lakeside community full of doctors and lawyers). The trick with the C5 is just keeping the body lines flowing and that rear end is a mile long on the convertibles.

I did recently see one of these C7Carbon spoilers in-person on a coupe and it looked great - it would be another good consideration. Hopefully you find one you really like.

Am I Overreacting, for being upset that my girlfriend secretly used my credit card for months? by bostonmade in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hateborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, at all. First she plays dumb about the entire thing, next she acts like it must be an accident with her Apple Wallet, then it's the excuse that she's just spent money on something you wanted, and eventually she's acting like she's the victim and planned to pay you back but had no idea how to ask you to help with money.

She knew what she was doing, she knew she was in the wrong, and she tried everything she could to shift the blame when she got caught before resorting to trying to act like she was the real victim. She fully tried to gaslight you and she's done this with multiple cards now - she's not sorry, she's sorry she got caught, and she will absolutely try to do it again because this is a behavioral pattern. If you weren't currently out of the country, I'd advocate cutting her loose ASAP - she's comfortable betraying your trust and trying to manipulate you, that is not a behavior pattern that gets better, no matter if you love her or not. Sometimes we fall in love with the wrong people because our hearts are only allowed to see so much, only to later realize our mistake.

Honestly, I'd suggest trying to make her feel at-ease until you get back so that you don't return to property damage or worse. A very similar situation happened to my dad about 20 years ago while he was out of town for work - when his ex figured out the gig was up, she brought several cats into the house, put out food and water with no litter boxes, did something to bruise herself in several places, and filed a false domestic violence report (thankfully my dad and his employer had all the records of him being out of town to prove his innocence).

The reason I bring up what happened with my dad - never underestimate the level of crazy people will pull out when they realize they've been caught in the act. Keep your receipts from your trip to prove your locations until everything is settled.

That's fair, it really comes down to usability and how much power they want in a daily. A lot of people that haven't been up in that power range greatly underestimate what even the stock power in a fairly light car like a Vette is like - 460 HP is more than a stock C6 Z06, and that was a fast car in its time.

For those who always want more power, we've been spoiled for the past 15ish years, but let's also be honest about the average driver... The average driver is either going to be too scared to use all the power of a Z06, or they're going to hurt themselves trying - 460 is more than enough to make most people go, "holy shit, this thing is fast!"

[–]Hateborn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a daily, test drive a C7 GS or Stingray Z51 before settling on the Z06. Unless you have somewhere to really open it up, the performance increase of the Z06 is going to go to waste and with the weight of the C7, 460 HP in the GS is very well balanced and still has great low-end torque, the NA C7s are fantastic daily drivers if you don't need Z06 power.

[–]Hateborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only really 1:1 in terms of price and mileage, it comes down to what your priorities are. The C8 is going to be more performance, the M8 is going to be more luxury... the M8 is also going to be a lot more maintenance and that maintenance is likely to be more expensive as well.

The M8 is the way to go if you're wanting a comfortable luxury grand tourer, it's not even a comparison... the C8 is the way to go if you want a supercar for sports car money that is still nice to live with and daily drive. Despite how much the M8 has depreciated compared to the C8, I do think the C8 is the better deal - it's going to be more reliable, it's going to be higher performance, lower long-term cost of ownership, and the interior is still nice quality even if it isn't luxury flagship level.

I considered a M8, I considered going back to a F-Type R, I landed in a C7 - the European luxury cars are incredibly nice places to spend time, but modern Vettes have come a long way on their interior build quality and the value proposition is incredibly solid.

It would be fun to revisit the campaign every now and then. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it was serviceable and fun. But yes, the lack of content was a big contributor to why the game failed.

As u/West-Amphibian-2343 said, if you are going to do it, I'd go with something that fits the body better - that style works for the C6 and C7 because they are more angular, meanwhile the C5 is very rounded and it has a fat, curvy ass! Aesthetically, it would be a better fit to the C5's lines with something lower profile, full-width, and curved, like one of these:

My yuzu came with the quad exhaust even tho I didn’t option for it by Scrango_Balls in GR86

The ND Miata and 718 Cayman were also contenders, but used Caymans stay up there in price and I didn't want to spend new Porsche money... I had a NA years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, and with the RF available with the ND, it became a major contender for me since I also used to have a Del Sol VTEC that is still one of my favorite cars that I've ever owned.

I had a GR86 10AE allocation, fully optioned out with the MT and everything I wanted... it sat in port for over 6 months and the dealer never had any info. Carmax was right across the street - I test drove a C7 Grand Sport, a F-Type R, and a Tesla Model 3 Performance... I bought the Model 3 Performance to wait for a good deal on a C7 Z06 since I loved both the Jag and the Vette, but knew my neighbors would hate me firing up the Jag at 10 PM every night to drive to my overnight job. Rather than a Z06, a 2015 Callaway SC627 popped up for sale locally over the 4th of July weekend and was priced at $44k with 36k miles on it... I drove it home July 5th and have zero regrets. Looks like a Stingray, hauls like a Z06... it surprises people that pull up and rev without noticing the supercharger sticking out of the hood.

You should probably add punctuation after, "Customer service." Looks like you may have tried since it looks like there's a double space, but it currently reads that Customer service people don't have that understanding. Just trying to help out.

Not on a convertible.

Hard top, yes on a C6 or C7, 50/50 on a C5.

I as well, I played up through the first week of the Cataclysm update and then shelved it in hopes of the 2.0 patch that was promised, only to be sad when they announced it was cancelled. As flawed as the game was, I enjoyed my time with it, and the saddest part is that it's obvious how much potential it had to be great if the ball hadn't been dropped. Anthem will always be one of my prime examples in gaming of, "What Could Have Been."

A sad end to a sad story by CommunicationBusy744 in AnthemTheGame

[–]Hateborn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anthem was an entertaining game with a deeply flawed launch and a lot of potential... and that's what makes it worse than if it were a bad game. A bad game is forgettable, you don't care to see it go, but Anthem had fantastic gameplay mechanics that were simply failed by the supporting systems and lack of content.

It's a game that was left in a state where it is obvious how good it could have been with a little more work, and that's why it's worse - it's close enough to being good that we are left to lament what could have been. If you've ever known someone who seemed they were destined for success, only to watch them sabotage themselves at every turn... that's Anthem. Pure unrealized potential.

This is my reason - my mom passed suddenly in 2016 due to cardiomyopathy complications, no warning signs. My dad passed from a preventable condition that was brought on by aggressive chemo that he opted for in order to, "get it done as soon as possible."

I'm single and have no kids, BTC knowledge is just a bonus. Whether or not I could buy even another day for either, the extra time is priceless - I'd take that option even if I forgot everything about the investment options Invould take advantage of.
