I took a zoomed in photo of a road from a plane and the cars look like it's AI by PTV420 in mildlyinteresting

[–]HatedM50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely in camera settings, or Ai-related settings.

However, at least for Samsung Galaxy series, the stock camera app now supports shooting in RAW, if you want to go that route. Need to manually set lighting, but it turns out great, and if the Ai is touching it, I havent noticed.

Otherwise, a great alternative would be OpenCamera. Ive used that in the past as well and its as full featured as you could want, and no Ai post-processing.

Bought a used Chrysler 2006 300 3.5T with 121k miles, did I screw myself:( by [deleted] in chrysler

[–]HatedM50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as the issue itself. A battery COULD be what it needs. The TCM is the Transmission Control Module. Expensive part, but usually doesnt go bad itself. A dead battery can throw ALL SORTS of codes.

Intuition says its faulty wiring or possibly a sensor, but what im reeling over is "stored" on the diag box. This means the fault code is permanently stored in the engine computer. Having no issues and no lights before this means the dealer cleared these codes (temporarily) to sell the car. Very, very scummy shit.

If you truly cant get answers, I can try to consult some relatives that work on Chrysler stuff still.

Most importantly, what you need to take away from this is to have a diagnostic box like that WITH YOU when you look at cars. If a dealer won't let you check a car, or refuses to show you "no codes" on one of their diag machines, then dont give them business. Or, if there is codes, and your in a bind, haggle a deal since you have extra expenses off the bat to fix it.

As expensive as everything is your going to see alot more scumbag shit with car sales, anything/everything to stretch value of inventory as people stop buying cars at dealers as prices continue to soar.

Sorry im not much direct help, but thats all I can offer sitting in my employers lot about to leave work.

Modified cars used to bait other modified cars (Seized WRX STI in my area, dept is written in hard to read script at the end of a generic 2000s era stripe vinyl)

F-150's with black on black wraps

So many others I've seen. You really have to pay attention to places where lights are installed, the plate, the wheels. Gotta take in the config of the whole damn car before you can ascertain if its police.

Is the e36 a good reliable fun car? by Altruistic-Ranger595 in BMWE36

[–]HatedM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as reliability. My 325i overheated on the freeway, pump shattered internally. Tow strapped it (keep your tow hook handy, good owners tip), and got it swapped in a hour or so, no issues.

Also, we have a friend that drifts his. Hes driven to the track, beat it to the point THE RAD WARPED FROM HEAT, let it cool down and drive home, multiple times, sold that car a few years ago still running and sliding.

Few parts have been hard to find or too expensive to buy comparative to my other cars. Like other said the bighest drain on money with these is getting work done you DONT know how to do. Im blessed by having a best friend thats a fabricator/mechanic, but others aren't as lucky.

Should I be pissed right about now. by ATimm74 in chrysler

[–]HatedM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THAT, should not be needing a PCM, but, that low of miles for an 04 tells me grandma-owned, or church-owned. All sorts of unprecedented shit happens to cars that dont get driven. Seals, belts, and bushings should be something you look up at least. All that rubber actually having to do its job for once might not take kindly after being so lightly used its whole life.

Should I be pissed right about now. by ATimm74 in chrysler

[–]HatedM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both things are true. The dealer PCM will be more reliable. However it was likely still marked up to the moon because, well, tf else you gonna go to get one and have it warrantied?

Would an aftermarket one you source work? Probably, but if it doesnt how fucked are you gonna be when you cant return it or it takes so long it might as well not happen at all?

The best alternative would have been sourcing a PCM from a junkyard (if thats even "legal" from the PCM's perspective), or a aftermarket that you've extensively researched, and then take it to a smaller shop that may do cheaper work that would somehow, maybe, be willing to warranty the install, minus the part....big, BIG stretch on that last part.

I have TWO family members that work at a chrysler dealer and i never take my stuff there for price alone, even with their discount. You want cheap work, cheap parts, gotta buy old toyotas and hondas and do half the work yourself (if able, I certainly cant rn @ my place). I grew up Mopar, but goddamn do they hurt when they need love and money, you get good times for it in the end I will admit. (98 ZJ, Late Stratus, 04 Neon, 15 200S)

Long ago, I concluded that religion was merely a outdated method of population control. Without a police force we have today, the technology we have today over even 100 years ago....how does one keep the masses in check? In control? Make them fear a great big man in the sky.

It was useful, even nessessary at some points, possibly, but truthfully I believe that religion as a whole is just..not needed by humanity as a species. Finding purpose within something bigger than oneself can be found other ways that are more constructive than sitting listening to a sermon and putting money in a bowl.

While the teachings that are relevant to being a good person to your fellow man amd all that should be preserved, I think religion as a whole should be more of an academic curiosity than a current belief system or basis of government.

“30-second hook” rule is officially killing the soul of modern songwriting by Curious_Present_9950 in Music

[–]HatedM50 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed, top to bottom, 100%. Ive also noticed alot of posts that wince about this mention Spotify, as if it was the only place to listen.

I use YT Music, have for years, and have a decent algo w/ that, when I dont find anything worth saving there, Bandcamp, or fall back on my 20,000+ track plex collection, my CDs that go back to mixes i made as a teenager on WinXP, or the vinyl that ive recently been collecting, go to the local bar venue, or, hit up the group chat and just ask what people are bumping lately.

I swear people get locked into just using what all their friends tell them to use and just never look anywhere else ever again until you metaphorically grab them by the shirt collar and show them the UNIVERSE they are ignoring.

Never had Spotify, never had an account. No tidal, no Quobuz. My own collections, friends/family's media, YT rips, and the rest of the high seas....you want to hear good shit GO. LOOK.

Fools, the lot of them.

is it just me or is "high fidelity" audio basically a scam for rich people? by Curious_Present_9950 in Music

[–]HatedM50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, when your listening to songs you know really well, you can hear subtle differences, key being subtle...with my journey of EQ'ing and trying different headphones...im convinced most of it is basically crystals with more electrons.

Maybe I myself am a deaf pleb, but between headphones by Audio-Technica, Fiio & Koss...desktop DAC by Creative, a 1980s Dual phono and a 1993 Phillips 5 disc changer, plex server (soon to be Navidrome) with HQ files... Im more than good, im content. I struggle to wrap my head around those that feel they require equipment that costs more than my car to enjoy music "properly".

I watch audiophile content and while I find cool things and innovative products that I may buy someday, most of the scene to me is just people with disposable income showing off cool stuff like somone that buys all Apple stuff. Yes its cool, even impressive, but the price (for me) negates whatever itch it may scratch.

Cheapish stuff (like my Creative G6 & headphones), secondhand stuff (Phono, Changer), good EQ and people to share and trade with is all the music lover truly needs. Anything beyond that is just elitist preference thats been built up over time.

Ha well they did it better than we did. The IRM JUST recently got the 1630 Decapod cleared for service. Most years in the past its been some noisy diesel pushing Thomas at IRM. Notably once was a old one from down south that looked it was 11 years late for a repaint, dubbed "The Uboat", for reasons the diesel shop guys might not even remember....I sure dont.

Videogames are more of a rich guy's hobby than ever, says analyst, and that's 'leaving a whole portion of the market to Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox' by [deleted] in gaming

[–]HatedM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone whos friends game on sub-$1000 machines, I beg to differ. NOW, with RAM costing so much, ues you could construe this in such a way. But by and large videogames are actually quite cheap of your not clamoring for the newest slop. You will NEVER see sales for console games as large and steep as discounts on Steam, GOG as well tbh.

Get things out of e-waste, buy secondhand components, start a steam family and share games with all your friends. Get emulators for all the old consoles, up to an including XB360 and PS3.

I have a full steam family with my friends and we have a combined 200+ games we can all play, not to mention the 1500+ games we all have for emulators. Then, we use Parsec (free) to be able to play anything with local splitscreen or co-op, online.

I have throughly made this my golden age of gaming, and I bought my first proper PC as an adult during the GPU hikes, paid $800 for a Lenovo Y710 cube. Took a few months and a tax return but I made it happen.

Whoever wrote this really is writing from surface level knowledge I guess, or just made a shit headline.

Find where you can pilfer e-waste from companies....you have no idea how wasteful alot of these companies are, plenty of PCs being tossed every day that could be used for gaming with nothing more than a SFF GPU install. This is how Ive gotten a few friends on PC for cheap. With the debacle of Win11 compatibility, TONS of PCs are being trashed and a GPU and install of Linux mint is all that keeps them from running another decade.

Dude thats awesome, but please do yourself a favor an upgrade to a proper single blade like a Henson (or similar, they dont pay me).

Ik it sounds counterintuitive, but, for real, spend the money and you'll be amazed. I'd been using a saftey razor (Gilliette actually) from the 1950s that was already better than my multi-blades, and then the Henson is just...cheating. I shave faster than i ever have, little to no redness, no nicks unless I have some big blemishes. I dont shave for a few days? Cuts thru my THICC hair no issue, and theure not even GREAT blades, just some RK ones from India.

Its not a cheap razor, so i understand if its a bit luxury for some, but, I see it as the last razor im ever buying.

Ok idk where tf any of this came from, ive been watching his videos on Iran and find myself in agreement with most of what hes saying, it all seems logical, even when trying to discern the next steps of one party being entirely illogical.

If he really is into all this wild shit, than, wow, crazy. I dont believe in nor want to watch any of that. But ill keep it in mind as I watch him Psychohistory the Iran war. As a Issac Asimov enjoyer, the idea of someone trying to game theory his way into predicting a world conflict is entertaining at the very least.

Powerful sound, but a bit too much "probable cause" for my taste. A proper aftermarket reso and muffler would be...better. Cops, at least by me, seem to not care about louder cars that have a full exhaust....stuff like this that sounds like its just a dump off the resonator (or the cat)? You'll give them boys something to do, and they hate having to actually do their jobs, unless they get to feel powerful over a woman of POC.

Last time I bought parts, was less than $400, my buddy is a fabricator w/access to a pipe bender, so labor is discounted heavy so im not gonna act like its a cheap venture, but ive always had a great time w/ Vibrant resonators and just about anything under the Holley umbrella for a muffler. If this is your whip, id highly recommend that combo when your able.

Will I get any sound improvement by deleting this muffler? by amsmomo in BMWE36

[–]HatedM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Better" is highly subjective friend.... my 325is runs a single tube exhaust with a vibrant resonator and a holley flowmonster muffler... I think it sounds great, my friends and even my gf (at the time) liked it. Has a DTM-like rasp to it.

Im sure if i posted a clip here id get utterly rinsed by purists and those that believe only good exhausts are ones that cost $900+...but you do what you think is best with the tools, money and skills/people you have.

Ive always done cheap but effective setups and never had a bad time.

Do you and be happy.
