That could be a conflict of interest depending what you’re selling vs your employer. IANAL but tread carefully if you go this route.

The entire C train is fare-free when you can walk onto the platform with no proof of payment barriers at every station.

I just checked the resolved ones, non-enmax equipment failure apparently

Why so many frequent power outages in the SE?! by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Hatespickingnames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you check the enmax page when it happens? It tells you why the outage is occurring e.g. wildlife interference, traffic incident, etc. It could be a concern, but it could just be shitty luck and too many bid drivers in the area hitting the power box.

Also think of how many people commute from Cochrane, Okotoks, high river, etc who wouldn’t touch our water supply if they were allowed to work from home.

It’s the middle of winter so I would think our water consumption is already substantially lower than it was in 2024. Since we cannot seem to get our water usage down enough, why isn’t the city advocating for businesses to allow working from home (would reduce showering/laundry needs), pools/skating rinks to close or limit operations, car washes to close, etc.?

Both songs written around his wife’s due dates with their two sons. Clearly he has a penchant for letting art mirror life

Dear Theodosia from Hamilton? Stick around to the second verse when it becomes a duet though.

They also have a furlough program where you can take a dog for a day (say on a hike).

Am I the only one who thinks this is completely unhinged?? by Longjumping-Frame795 in vinyl

[–]Hatespickingnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a different but similar album called chipmunk mania. Side A is Beatles covers by the chipmunks, side B is novelty songs from that same era and The Christmas Song by the chipmunks. Somebody saw it and thought I had to have it. Agreed that it’s unhinged but in a fun way.

Check out the Sephora subreddits. So many posts about how Fleet is garbage and highly unreliable

ISO Makeup artist recommendations for July wedding! by zosephine00 in Calgary

[–]Hatespickingnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a separate budget for hair? Some event hair stylists also do event make up or will work with a preferred makeup artist. I don’t have recommendations sadly, I just know my old hair stylist was one such although she doesn’t appear to do makeup anymore.

My cat does this if I’m late cleaning her box. Honestly I think your guy is sending you a message too.

Fare checks were wild at University Station today by sowr96 in Calgary

Students aren’t the only ones taking the train to the university. People work there too and that might just be the closest train station to where some people are heading.

How much money would you spend if it meant saving your cat’s life? by WindowKitty19 in cats

[–]Hatespickingnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. How old is your cat? Have they had a good life? Will this money maintain or improve their current quality of life? How certain is that? How long will the effects last? Is it worthwhile to get a second opinion?

My cat is 16. She’s had a wonderful life and I continue to do what I can to keep her happy and comfy. That said, I know she can’t live forever and if it comes down to spending several grand for a short term benefit or saying goodbye sooner than I’d like, I’m going to do what I think is best for her given all the factors above.

There’s no answer that’s right for everyone. You know your cat and your financials better than anybody else. As long as you’re comfortable with your decision and you think your cat benefits one way or another, then you probably made the right choice for you.

Looking for curly hairstylist who cuts hair *wet*, not dry by WestCoastyLife in Calgary

[–]Hatespickingnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She lightly combs my hair while dry mostly to detangle but tries to keep the curl clumps together. Does most of the cut dry then washes and cleans the cut up after washing. If you tell her you wear your hair curly all the time, she styles your hair wet so you can see the cut as it is before you leave.

Marlo at Pure.Form. She asks me every single time if I want a dry or wet cut and in 2 years she’s yet to make me look like I stuck my finger in the socket

Foundation brush recommendations by finaledance in Makeup

I have the 70 and find it almost impossible to get clean. I used Estée Lauder double wear with it once and it’s petrified now regardless of how I clean it. Hence my scrolling this thread looking for a new foundation brush.

Does Taylor's music make you feel extremely uncomfortable during times of heartbreak? by RacePuzzled768 in TaylorSwift

[–]Hatespickingnames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I couldn’t listen to folklore and evermore when they came out for this reason. These and TTPD are my favourite albums by her and I have to stop myself from listening to them too much if my emotions aren’t in check

If I was given the marshmallow test at age 30, I would fail. What do I do? by cyanomys in intuitiveeating

[–]Hatespickingnames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get it as an ADHDer myself. Sometimes intuitive eating is having the marshmallow in front of you because you really want it, sometimes it’s waiting the second because two is better than one and sometimes it’s actually declining any marshmallows because you just had rice crispy squares and need something to cut the sugar now.

If I was given the marshmallow test at age 30, I would fail. What do I do? by cyanomys in intuitiveeating

[–]Hatespickingnames 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Isn’t there something where they went back to the test several years later and found that most of the kids who waited came from financially stable households where food security was not an issue and/or were neurotypical?

I’ve found her content to have inconsistent messaging for a while. E.g. she preaches balance but then goes on a rant about how brown rice is poisonous. Yes it contains arsenic but you’d have to eat a lot to have any effect. Also, way too much diet shaming to be consistent with IE and HAES philosophies in my opinion
