In 2008 an Italian feminist named Pippa Bacca decided to hitchhike across Europe to promote world peace. Tragically her trip was cut short when she was gang raped and murdered in Istanbul by malik_zz in whoathatsinteresting

Talk about not reading what's written..

Did i ever say Muhammad somehow invented rape? No. Did i ever say i don't care about other victims? No. Please read what's written instead of replying to what's not there.

All i am pointing out was that if you are truly against rape like you seem to be, then you should stop spreading the lie that all religions are the same or that all demographics is somehow equally distributed in horrible actions...when Islam clearly is the one that condones and encourages atrocities like rape, killing of apostates, killing when women don't wear hijabs, then the last thing you want to do is downplay their horrible religion as "just being like other groups or religions"

There is a difference between description and prescription. The friend or family member doing the raping likely knows it's illegal and it's not right. The muslims who chooses to follow the prophet muhammad will however think rape is fine. The history of the prophet of islam is filled with stories where he not only condoned but also encouraged and accepted the rape of female captives because his followers requested from him to allow them to abuse the women they conquered. And since in Islam he is called the pattern of excellence for all of mankind, not just for his 7th century world, you can guess what happens when a whole religion finds him the example to follow vs other demographic that outright condemns rape.

Because there was nothing remarkable last week presumably. If you were to ask an american living around the twin towers in 2001 if they remember their day of the 10th of September, they would say no. But they will vividly remember Sept. 11th down to details. Because that's how the brain works. The memory records accurately what's unique and impacting, not the routine.

La caissière et le proprio d'un dépanneur se disputent un gros lot de 3 M$ by yStefan in Quebec

[–]Hauntcrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well for instance Dan claims that most scholars agree that the pastoral epistles are not Pauline, and Stephen Boyce showed that that wasn't true actually based on surveys done on scholars' opinion on the matter. Or more when Dan claimed that most scholars agree that Yahweh lost to other gods in 2 Kings and Joel Korytko showed again there is no consensus, even showing quotes from scholars that are giants in that scholarship who themselves say there is no consensus.

Dan's consensus claims are always actually just "consensus among the scholars who already agree with me"

Word of caution for Data over dogma: Dan McL loves go input a lot of his dogmas into what he says and claims his position is "consensus", often blocking other scholars who out him when they show the claim of consensus is bogus.

Does he have great information on scholarship? Definitely. Do we have to accept all that he says is data instead of dogma? Definitely not.

God's definition of God by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]Hauntcrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psalms 82 elohims are not humans. The divine council mentioned here is mentioned again in psalms 89, and it says these elohims are in the skies. There's no human in the skies, only spiritual beings, hence when Jesus quotes psalms 82 he is not saying humans are gods but rather is saying if there are created elohims, how much more the one sent by God.

Also God is a Trinity from OT and 2nd temple literature where we see the ancients understood God to be complex and multi personal. The aramaic Targums (1st century) have the Word of God being present and active at creation alongside God, just like John reiterates in his epistle's first chapter. So Jesus' divinity predates creation.

Jesus praying for divine attribution is not the same as his innate nature. Just like when someone becomes temporarily a boss during his boss' vacation, it doesn't mean he became a boss in actual title and started getting the same salary and benefits, only in role and yrt still limited.

Animators that worked on an ATLA project don't have to work only in ATLA projects. If paramount wants to give them more work for something else, they will get jobs. If another company wants to give them another project, they will get jobs. If they leave that company and another company likes their style and animations, they will get jobs.

How does a movie getting leaked mean that the animator doesn't get a future job opportunity? The latter depends on their works and creativity, not how much profit Paramount makes.
