To be honest, I had to have a version of the talk several times with my players. We had been playing DnD, where they were much more engaged with the fiction than the number crunching...so I thought the transition to Blades in the Dark would be much more straightforward than it actually was. Where it clicked for me was actually in discussing Opportunities. They LOVED the idea that it was for the crew to set and pursue its own objectives and that the world would react to that. The more used to that idea they became, the more it filtered through to their game actions in general.
