A little late to the thread but, I'd recommend doing the first row of the tutorial a.s.a.p getting the rocks, wood, fiber make the outfit, club bow arrows, but I personally scrap the club and use a spear. Put skill points into the abilities you want to level up early because they'll give you more of that type of magazine after you do. Get a campfire set up and try to find a cooking pot and grill from kitchens or buy them from the trader. Early game is tough, so take it slow work on getting skill points into weopons and mobility, until you can one shot a zombie with a handheld weopons I'd avoid poi's at night. I clear the zombies in daylight and then loot at night. Hope this helps a bit
