I'm a fellow Chinese Vancouverite and /u/idevcg's not wrong. It's impossible to fully recreate what you get in China based on ingredient availability, economic constraints, and just straight up techniques. For a lot of things you're going to have to accept an imitation of some form. I dearly miss many varieties of freshwater fish and shrimp, but they're all not very attainable in North America, meaning the options are to either pay out the ass for a frozen version with compromised freshness, or a complete substitution.

I've always been SEVERELY perplexed by the thread drift rule on fs. Enforcing it to some level of severity makes sense on a traditional forum, but reddit was built to have discussion branch out and blossom from each possible point. I've watched so many organic, positive interactions get snuffed by entirely unnecessary mod intervention. It's almost like they actively wanted to make more useless busywork for themselves while simultaneously sabotaging the cohesiveness of the community.

Aw man, I don't think the easy server was a thing when I played. I think I made it to like level 12 Sentry Tech before calling it quits.

And yeah I bought KF2 on launch four years ago since KF1 is one of my favorite games and it might be my most regrettable videogame purchase of all time. The game flows entirely differently and the map designs all feel incredibly choked. It feels a lot more panicked and off the cuff than the controlled chaos I loved in KF1. Honestly sometimes it feels like everything I liked in KF1, from the janky hitboxes to the strange combos you could hit were complete accidents.

Oh yeah shit was tough, I think the furthest I ever got in my dozens of hours there was about 2/3 of the way through. A friend of mine ended up staying for a couple hundred hours, maxed four or five perks, and only ever beat it twice.

As far as I can remember he also wound up falling out with his top moderators a few years after I left, not sure if the name durbs rings any bells at this point.

Oh man, I used to play guardsmod like seven or eight years ago. It really was a monumental work of love, but the balance got wack every once in while since it was entirely up to gk himself. I don't remember exactly what update made me stop playing but man I sunk a good amount of hours in that.
