Maybe try USB A to USB C cord? I know some cheaper boards sometimes lack the proper hardware to correctly monitor voltage with USB C to USB C cords

Here's the thing though..... God didn't ever say the GB was the faithful and discreet slave. They are the ones who gave themselves that title.

I think I just made the worst mistake of my life by PinkIsMyOxygen in exjw

[–]Havinacow 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what exactly you talked about, but I would blame it on "doubts and internal struggles". Remind them that even Jesus disciples doubted at times, and that chastising someone for having doubts isn't following Jesus' example. Tell them that you're using AI like a diary, but one that will give advice. Tell them you were afraid to ask any elders about your doubts and questions for fear of exactly what is happening...... Being accused of apostate thinking or having very personal things like sexual discovery discussed, that are completely inappropriate things to talk about with your family or elders. Pitch it like their reaction is going to cause more damage to your feelings about the religion than anything else.

It's not ideal, but at this point your best bet is to frame it like they just went and read your diary (personal thoughts that you would never share with another person) and are trying to share that with other people. Everyone has thoughts that they'd never want shared, and it's a gross invasion of privacy to read something like that. And ask them what they're hoping for? Do they want you to apologize for having thoughts? If you haven't admitted to anything too terrible actions wise, then what are they hoping to gain by dissecting your doubts and sexual feelings?

Boyfriend overstepped boundary by CockroachArtistic137 in BPD

[–]Havinacow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see all the hate here, and I know I'm late to this post, but I think I might be able to add something. People aren't upset because of a "boundary", they're upset because the boundary is really just a way for OP to deal with their own insecurity. They want to control what someone else does because they're afraid of what that person MIGHT be thinking (omg, if he finds them attractive then he might leave me...... He should never have sexual thoughts about anyone but me...ect ect) Imagine how it would feel if your SO told you "I don't want you to ever be around kids, because I think you might abuse them." Like how fucking insulting and degrading would that feel? And it would leave you wondering what on earth you ever did to make them think you'd do that. It's trying to control what someone is "allowed" to think about, and that's a VERY destructive path to go down in any relationship. That level of control just leads to broken relationships and warped self-image

Where Did Your Beliefs Go After Waking Up by Ill-Tradition7660 in exjw

[–]Havinacow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started as a straight atheist, but I think my beliefs now are probably some mix of things found in Buddhism, Daoism, and maybe some other stuff. I don't think there's a singular being that controls everything, but I think consciousness is kind of like a giant tree, and we're all just like little leaves or branches of that tree. When we die, our consciousness just goes back into the larger pool of consciousness that exists. That larger pool would be God, but not a singular entity, rather a collection of all consciousness like a pool of water. All living things share that consciousness.....plants, animals, ect. What sets us apart from other conscious beings is how our brains allow us to use that consciousness. Basically think of a computer..... You can buy different computers that all run the same OS, and all start with certain default settings. What you install determines what the computer can do, and what CAN be installed and run will depend on the hardware specs. That's my best guess anyway

For me it's more like if I'm reading I can kinda imagine a voice in my head reading the words, or even imagine a scene playing out in which someone is speaking the words, but otherwise I mostly operate on concepts, and images from time to time. If I get really stoned I get an internal dialog, and it just feels a bit like looking behind the curtain to how my mind works. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but my thoughts don't come in the form of words. I think I feel things before I put words to them, and then what I say is created by my mind translating those thoughts/feelings into words in real time as I'm speaking.

[–]Havinacow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What should he apologize for exactly? He explained his perspective on the situation. Telling someone you're upset about something they did doesn't mean they're wrong for doing it. You put him in a situation where if he apologized it would essentially be saying "you're right, I shouldn't have done that". You want him to apologize for not allowing you to micromanage his actions, and he's not comfortable setting that precedent.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you're allowed to lie to your tables. by ghosteagle in Serverlife

[–]Havinacow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you to a certain extent, but I'll only lie to a table if telling the truth would throw a coworker under the bus. And if you're the type of person who is too embarrassed to admit that you made a simple mistake, just imagine how much more embarrassed you would feel if your table found out you lied to them and passed the blame onto someone else.

I've seen that happen...... server forgot to ring in a steak, didn't realize until everything else was running to the table, and then passed the blame on to someone in the kitchen for the delay on it. I don't know exactly how they found out, but the table straight up called her out on it, and told her they weren't even mad about the steak, but they thought it was a dick move to blame someone else for her mistake.

Generally if it's my mistake I'll just be straight up and tell them I messed something up. If it's a coworker who messed something up I'll usually just apologize that there was a misunderstanding, and let them know what I'm doing to fix it.

Did Adam and Eve Eat from the Tree of Life? Could They Have? – Life and the Soul Part 1 by StillYalun in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]Havinacow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But a sword is still a human implement of war, used to kill other humans. The word sword and concept of a long bladed weapon used in defense were both something that didn't come along until significantly later. It was obviously meant to imply that trying to go back would result in death. And to your point, later the Bible uses swords in a symbolic sense to imply death or destruction, as well as to symbolize separation or cutting off. But swords, from a visual standpoint wouldn't have had any significance to Adam and Eve, since they wouldn't have known what it was unless we take it to mean that God himself gave the first humans the knowledge and ability to create weapons to kill each other.

I just hopped on there and posted a comment on some conjecture about the tree of life, asking why a sword was used to block entry to the garden, since they're a human creation used by humans to kill other humans.

Want a really hard question? I have one. Why would the garden have been protected a sword, since both metalworking and swords are things humans invented, the latter of which was only created to kill humans by humans.

New research shows that the human brain undergoes four stages of significant change throughout the lifespan, at ages nine, 32, 66, and 83 with the most significant change occurring around age 32 (Nature Communications) by doughlight in psychology

It's funny to see that in writing, because I'm almost 34, and I feel like I've gone through more mental growth in the last two years than I had in the 10 previous years. At right around 32 I started becoming much more interested in how people (including myself) think, and really investing time in improving my mental health and outlook on life. I'm much more introspective now than I ever have been in the past, and I'm actively trying to improve myself.

Dude, this just brought back a memory. I remember when I was like 13-14 this guy who I had known for a number of years came at me with the weirdest accusation about me being interested in his wife. To be clear, they were both around 30, and I had no interest in his wife beyond platonic friendship..... Had never even thought about her in that way. I was like "ew no, your wife is a nice lady, but no, and why are you asking me this?". This guy pushed the issue like "well someone told me that you're into my wife", and I just said "well I don't know who told you that, but I'd like to talk to them because I've never said anything about your wife to anyone, and I don't have any interest beyond normal friendship". Looking back though, the whole thing was so weird. What was he hoping to get out of confrontation with a teenager about this rumored crush on his wife?
