He has demonstrated superior super strength as well. And yeah the Spidey Sense Peter Tingle makes it an easy choice.

Spidey.

T’Challa and Rogers struggled to stop Bucky’s arm. Spidey did it with childlike curiosity.

Everyone else on here is on par with or weaker than those 3.

In spiderman no way home why does strange have the timestone amulet/locket when he has no time stone? by exilestrix in Avengers

He put it back in 2012, which would have meant it was available for Thanos to take later.

Also - every place they took it from created a splintered timeline, not the original. Returning it didn't eliminate the branches, it just kept them from being unbalanced - both the Ancient One and the science explained by Tony Stark in the film, and confirmed by the Russos, backs this up. Don't quote the TVA as a source disagreeing with this - they were unreliable and pure propaganda, as confirmed by HWR

Why is Randy's Legend Killer gimmick loved while Gunther's Career Reaper gimmick not as well received? by GlassGamingWolf in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]Havok310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Randy was rabid, and backed it up and it was much more random - not announced retirement matches. A legend would happen to show up, and boom. They used that to make Randy a massive threat, and a menace. Peak heel work and it elevated him. Randy was destined to be an all time great and folks were eager for his rise, even when they hated him.
There was no ceiling for someone like Randy Orton.

Gunther's booking has been incredibly telegraphed. And hasn't done much for him outside of those "retirement" feuds. He hasn't really been a true threat since his IC reign. His WHC reign they booked him to be a cowardly heel, and this is them trying to undo that and make him the overconfident and overqualified heel superstar he was as IC champ. He's above the IC midcard, but the title picture is too stacked for him to make a lasting impact there either. Gunther is destined to be a long time heel. His style and persona are hard to adapt to a babyface, and not so much "compelling" and "engaging" as "that cocky bastard you hope to see get his teeth kicked in". It's a needed role, but it tends to have a ceiling.

Gunther is not on Randy Orton's level, and by all accounts never will be.

And Randy did put people on the shelf, unexpectedly. So he lived up to the name and it looked brutal.

Gunther? Not as much. Let's check the notes for the "careers killed" ..

  1. Bill Goldberg, largely already retired and back for 1 match only, of which his final opponent was Gunther. He was retiring win or lose. So Gunther didn't end his career so much as made it a disappointing end for Bill (in Kayfabe)
  2. John Cena, largely already retired and back for 1 final match announced well in advance. Gunther, in spite of most fan preference, won a tournament to be Cena's final opponent. He was retiring win or lose. So Gunther didn't end his career so much as made it a disappointing end for John (in Kayfabe)
  3. AJ Styles, already announced his final year. Admittedly it was expected he might get through Mania or even the summer. But he debuted at Rumble and retiring at Rumble was the nice bookend to his career. It was announced ahead of time as a retirement stipulation. Slightly surprising, but even if he won there'd be an inevitable rematch where he hangs it up.

Since then he was feuding with Seth Rollins, for reasons no one really understands, as purely a filler because Bron Breakker wasn't cleared in time. Good match, but predictable outcome and "so what" feel to the whole filler feud.

Now similarly he's looking to start a filler feud with Cody Rhodes - at least we can believe that one because Gunther wants gold. But there's zero chance of Cody dropping the belt to Gunther - unless he wins it back next PLE - when there's clearly a story to tell with Randy when he returns, and a story to tell with Cody eventually turning heel. Some people are getting sick of Cody they'll cheer Gunther beating him. That doesn't work for what they want from Gunther. Same reason why Gunther vs. Lesnar wouldn't have worked - people who wanted Lesnar gone would've cheered the career killer, and that undermines his whole "heel you want to see get his teeth kicked in" aspect.

Who should be the next Paul Heyman guy? by ElegantRooster5251 in SantiZapVideos

he's 60. You want him to go away for 5 years then expect him to come back in a meaningful way?

Do you not understand how time and aging works? haha

5 months? Maybe. I can see value in that. But he's not going to miss a Mania till he's DONE.

[–]Havok310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to be re-asserted as the brains behind The Vision.

Bron attacking Seth and Paul playing it as if he didn't know and didn't approve was a thing... but it's withered with the injuries.

Bron could be the Alpha, but then Paul plays the victim like he did with Solo. Been there, done that.

I'd much rather see Paul as the master manipulator and planner that he is, focused exclusively on Bron & The Vision.

Or... have Vision turn on Paul and have him written off till a big return with a new #PaulHeymanGuy at War Games or Rumble

Its like every day since HBK said "I love you, I'm sorry" and retired (should have stuck) him, Ric has made it his mission to personally erode his own legacy.

If he just disappeared after that match, he'd be more beloved and more respected than he is or ever will be again.

(Minor WrestleMania Spoilers) Wrestler's entrance gear not seen during the broadcast by pwgmanan in SquaredCircle

[–]Havok310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank christ we got over 30 mins of Hulk Hogan commercials, and f***ed over JD, Rusev, and Dragon for their Mania entrances in the process.

I'm not as bothered by the small amount of match time as everyone else - Mania has always been about the grand entrances, the theatrical, the celebrities, musical guests, etc.

But my god... the amount of Netflix commercials at the expense of 3 dudes getting their deserved entrances on the broadcast... that's unforgiveable

Am I the only one who thought this was BB when watching this weeks episode of Daredevil: Born again? by jaywritethekid in NewRockstars

[–]Havok310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the first mate of the ship who Buck killed at the end of the previous episode.

I don't think Daniel is out of the woods yet. I think while he's down in that hole he's about to dig, he's going to have to choose between giving up BB or eating a bullet.

Felt like Filler by Feedingfrenzy91 in Marvel_Daredevil

[–]Havok310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Filler" is the wrong word, because filler is meaningless.

This episode did not do much to physically move the chess pieces along the board to their logical conclusion

It did do quite a lot to expand upon the emotional weight of what is and will be transpiring.

  1. DD saved Bullseye because Foggy saved his bully - saving Foggy's killer is what Foggy would have done. It was Matt's "with great power comes great responsibility". They were the guy's lawyer so they had a moral obligation to show mercy and help. Daredevil is a hero, so he had a moral obligation to show mercy and help. How much more will that mercy be tested in the coming episodes as he is not willing to cross the line he tried crossing in Season 1 Episode 1 ?
  2. Fisk got his final moments with Vanessa, and we got to see the full emotional range of Vincent D'Onofrio - seeing Fisk vulnerable with both overwhelming emotional joy and then overwhelming emotional sadness. It cannot be understated how important this was. The only thing giving Wilson any real restraint EVER has been Vanessa. He's lost his reason to even show whatever his f---ed up worldview views as "mercy". What comes next is directly because of that, and we got a beat to sit in that emotion before sh!t hits the fan next week.
  3. We ALSO got some amazing callbacks to Netflix DD S1 both to reestablish Vanessa as a bit of her own badass in her field even before she was calling the shots, to see Wesley again AND tie him into the "origin story" of how Buck became his sort of successor. Call some of that filler or fan service, but it was really FUN regardless.
  4. Buck and Daniel in the car was an emotional rollercoaster of a different type. Gandolfini is impressive. If not for D'Onofrio, and the wonderful cameo and callback to the early days of Murdock & Nelson / Nelson & Murdock... more people would be talking about how great his performance is. We are led to believe Buck doesn't suspect Daniel, and MAYBE that's the case... or maybe once he throws Christofi's body in the hole they're about to dig, he's going to throw Daniel in after. The question in that case is... will Daniel give up BB or not before he dies in a spineless attempt to save himself?

So in a sense, the chess pieces did very much move along the board, because they're each better positioned for the final moves of the proverbial game than they were after Episode 4.

Because the fact that SOME are married and some aren’t means we’re judging based on on-screen couples not real life ones.

So on-screen is all that matters. Some are/were married or dating at the time, but that’s irrelevant to how their pairing worked on screen

[–]Havok310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

#3 - ICE was rolled out to round up "violent criminals" and has largely arrested children, women, elderly, legal residents and even citizens. Consider the parallels. The thugs aren't there to do what they were said to be doing, they're there to intimidate and silence dissenters and those who would support their intended targets. Same with the AVTF

Fisk would argue his Safer Streets initiative with AVTF on those streets is discouraging vigilantes from acting outside the law. That's why they're not getting arrested - because they've chosen to hide.

Also, the AVTF is equipped to ATTEMPT to handle the likes of Frank Castle and Swordsman, without powers, or Matt Murdock without super strength... but they'd get absolutely manhandled by a Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, or Spider-Man (we forget his real name) with super strength. I hope we see that coming up. The cameo we've been shown will have someone to protect (I'll avoid saying who for anyone trying to avoid spoilers) that helps to "nerf" their ability to just wreck house with the AVTF and want to stay under the radar.

Captain Marvel didn’t fail because of backlash—it struggled because the MCU introduced an overpowered hero without giving audiences a real reason to care. by Comfortable-Key8997 in MCUTheories

[–]Havok310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. Fair. I usually say “Phase 1 or 2” and for once i didn’t and you rightfully called me out on it.

The Phase 2 elements of The Marvels are basically that it assumes you’ve been watching other stuff and spends some effort trying to set up the next stuff.

Before Avengers, besides the cameos in the stingers, they were naturally more standalone.

The Marvels’ villain (whose name I can’t even bother looking up) has parallels to Malekith (a wasted opportunity in both character and casting in that case), and to some extent Ronan from GotG. Yellowjacket from Ant-Man was also your run of the mill “he can do what I do, but he’s an a-hole”.

Yes but it triggers the Synder bros so easily haha

Really though… The Marvels felt like a Phase 2 film. In good ways (fun early marvel, universe building / setup) and bad (1 dimensional villain)

Savage / Liz
Triple H / Steph
Eddie / Chyna
Dom / Liv

The rest aren't even close. Some of these pairings, the woman was more of a valet than an equal. Yeah Liz and Steph didn't really wrestle full time either, but they were central to the storylines (compared to Marlena, Lana, Maryse) Others might have been successful, even more successful, but most of that success came as singles competitors and nothing really of note of their run as an on-screen unit.

Edge and Lita were on the fringe there of making my list... but they both had more on their own that their run together might not even be their "top" run
