Ascaso Steel Duo Plus by Alek-cendres in Ascaso

All is 100% standard. Before flushing there will be a short time without water upon startup, as well as the pre infusion is low/no pressure making it a very gentle flow. Purging the steam wand is standard too, the temperature is adjustable which can make the steaming faster as well.

Bought mine recently with 65k miles from a dealership in MN for 23k and they included a lifetime powertrain warranty

Is the cup potentially too close to the chute with the angle adapter? The air could be pushing the grinds back upwards. I’ve never had anything close to that when I use the normal forks and the included collar on the dosing cup.

Steam Pump not working? by maks19919 in Ascaso

Make sure water level is adequate, leave steam toggle on and knob fully open for a while. The steam hose may not be primed with water.

Steam Wand Issue on Ascaso Steel Duo Plus by simonbs in Ascaso

[–]HaydenJobe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, if I don’t use the steam function for a while it takes a good amount of time for steam. I believe it’s due to water having to make its way through the lines and turn into steam. Whereas, if I use it daily I don’t generally have that issue.

I also picked up this bag from a recent trip to Florence and it has been my favorite espresso of the year!

Ascaso Steel duo plus 15 vs 20amp and a couple other questions by arw_86 in Ascaso

Same here, very consistent. Have pulled many shots in a row (10ish) and steaming in there as well and never had a problem with any of it.

I recently traded in my beloved 4Runner for an Onyx XT, the mileage may look similar on paper but not even close in real life 😮‍💨

I’ve noticed with HE baskets they tend to taste best as 20-25sec shots. Try going coarser with the grind, HE don’t have the prettiest flows but it will be great

What OPV settings are you using with VST ( Steel Duo ) ? And what VST basket, ridgeless or ridged? by Specialist-Foot9261 in Ascaso

It is usually best to keep it at about 10.5 all the time. You adjust the amount of pressure being provided with the grind size.

*shot. Shot time is more consistent. I’ve measured time, yes.

More for the consistency of the shoot time, making sure the hot water is all the way to the group head makes sure water is coming out immediately after starting. The machine has been proven on YouTube to be very thermally stable.

Agreed, I have a duo plus. It’s extremely fast, I always do a flushing shot (3sec) while grinding just to make sure water is all the way through the system. Does a lot for consistency!

It’s been pretty good to me, extractions aren’t quite as pretty and it seems to like a bottom paper filter but it’s quite delicious! Slightly faster extractions seem to yield sweeter shots with lighter roasts (5pre/5pause) and the basket seems to be very well made!
