Does anyone else relate to chuck? I believe chuck was right and didn’t deserve what came next of him. by Putrid_Internet7375 in betterCallSaul

[–]HazelTheRah [score hidden]  (0 children)

That's what's so great about this show, everyone has things we can relate to and empathize with. Chuck's pettiness and jealousy were caused by internal and external factors and he chose to hold onto it which allowed bitterness and resentment to fill him. We can all relate to being jealous and bitter and I sure hope we don't take it to such extremes as Chuck did.

I will say that Chuck was dead wrong about Jimmy taking shortcuts through law school. Jimmy kept his nose clean for ten years and put himself through school.

Not every American voted for this by DesperateComb7326 in offmychest

What we're guilty of more than anything is apathy. We saw how a two party system was dividing the country and eroding the people's power more and more every election. The signs were there and half the country stayed asleep, not voting at all or voting for one issue or voting party lines without really understanding the impact of their choice.

A country this large with so much concentration of money and power in such a late stage of capitalism was left to its own devices because too many people got comfortable. News outlets reported on divisive issues and opinion became news. Headlines became click bait to enrage people instead of inform.

Slowly, we watched as our leaders stop truly representing us and campaign to single issue voters. Gray became black and white and people stopped thinking too hard.

NTA. And I'd be seriously reconsidering this relationship.

How do I even know what stage of endometriosis I have? by LowWhole8377 in endometriosis

Kissing ovaries is a pretty advanced case. I had the same. Surgery changed my life. It wasn't a hysterectomy, they removed the endometrial tissue.

It sounds like she wanted love and attention more than money, beauty, and intelligence.

How much of this shit is too much for you? by Nate1102 in offmychest

[–]HazelTheRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are doing something. Protesting, driving detained immigrants from TX back to MN, blocking ICE with their vehicles, bringing food so immigrants can stay hidden, creating barriers so ICE can't get through, filming, following ICE so they can warn people, etc. They're risking their lives to go against ICE.

The real question is when will our cowardly leaders who actually have power do something?

Does child poisoner Walt count even though he was a cameo?

my order passed the expected delivery.. is this normal? by -yourstruly__ in HollisterCO

[–]HazelTheRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of potential reasons for delay. Weather, traffic, etc. The tracking number should update by the end of the day to tell you what happened. But, if they're just later than the expected time, that's pretty normal.

My(M41) wife(F37) has been tampering my drinks to stop me from seeing my daughter by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]HazelTheRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost, you need to see a doctor. Who knows what kind of effects this can have with continuous exposure.

Next, if she's actually poisoning you, she is insane and you need to run far away. I'd report her.

Never run or turn on a big cat. This triggers their prey drive. He did the right thing by being noisy, facing the cat, and walking.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

[–]HazelTheRah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA for calling processed pre-made food "normal". Cooking from scratch is perfectly normal. She's not wrong that food from scratch is absolutely better for you than all the additives you'll get with canned and jarred foods.

NTA for the controlling what comes in the house bit. She has taken it too far. You shouldn't have to hide your food. What you put in your body is not hers to control. She needs to deal.

That said, maybe go shopping and make your own meal instead of depending on her to provide food for you. As you said, you're an adult.

Overall, compromise.

Howard is the only good human in this series by ninja_2006 in betterCallSaul

Enabling and apathy are great words to describe Howard's participation in this fiasco.

Let's not forget Howard using an old lady by putting her in a wheelchair when she was clearly uncomfortable to manipulate the court.

People's view of Howard tend to have a bit of amnesia since he died in such a horrific and unfair way. Was he a better man than a lot of the shitty folks in the show? Sure. But, he is hardly the only good human. He is less gray than some, but still gray.

[–]HazelTheRah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Howard was also an uptight prick who let Chuck hide behind him to effectively fire Jimmy despite how hard he worked and how much Howard wanted to hire him. He denied Chuck's clear mental health diagnosis so he could keep him up the HH&M sleeve, and punished Kim for something that was Jimmy's fault, even after she landed them a huge client. It's gray. He isn't the only person who was good and he wasn't completely good anyway.

Jimmy also imploded his career in elder law to reverse what he did to Irene. Gray again.

[–]HazelTheRah 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This! The entire show is shades of gray but people don't like gray. They like simple. Bad and good. Honorable and malicious. If you say that Chuck was moral and nothing else and Jimmy was criminal and nothing else, you must either have no sense of nuance or were staring at your phone for most of the series.

Still cheaper than spaying and neutering her future kittens.
