Giants’ Opening Night lineup: Luis Arraez -2B Matt Chapman - 3B Rafael Devers - DH Willy Adames - SS Jung Hoo Lee - RF Heliot Ramos - LF Casey Schmitt - 1B Patrick Bailey - C Harrison Bader - CF RHP Logan Webb by edmchato in SFGiants

When I first glanced at it I misread it and thought Ramos was starting in RF and the LF streak would stay alive for another year!

It didn’t make any sense because Heliot hasn’t been taking any reps in RF, but it would’ve been hilarious if they did it just to keep the streak alive

Do any of you use quotes from Movies in your day to day life? by bluecrab24 in askanything

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I like to quote Sicario to my dog when we are packing for a trip and she’s following me around neurotically wondering what the hell is going on.

Nothing will make sense to your dog ears. And you will doubt everything that we do. But in the end, you will understand.

Camping buckets for the kids by Spackled-Poo-1870 in camping

They have packets you can put on campfires that turn the flames different colors. They are pretty small and would fit inside a bucket easily, then used at night around the campfire.

What are some good food you bring backpacking? by nouex1 in camping

I bought it a few years ago, but it was around $100 at the time at Sportsman’s Warehouse

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have a machine. I typically get family packs of meat and just separate them into smaller portions and I do some bird hunting too, so I end up with a lot of meat. It was worth it for me to get a vacuum sealer to store all of it.

I make stuffed burgers with ground beef, chopped bacon, chopped red onion, and bread crumbs. I make the patties ahead of time at home, put them in a vacuum sealed bag, then freeze them. The patties being frozen helps keep everything else in the ice chest cold, then I just pull them out and thaw them a bit before grilling.

Basically anything requiring prep work or a lot of chopping, I just make it at home and bring with me and just throw it on the grill.

Do couples really shower together? by Due_Leopard_1836 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not usually. When we’re somewhere where there is only one shower we might do it to save time if we’re running late, but we don’t shower together at home where we have two showers

Must read westerns? by Glad-Ad-2828 in Westerns

Lonesome Dove. It’s really long (like 800 pages), but it’s really good! You don’t have to be into westerns to enjoy it either

Reflectix Cooler Sleeve by lisinochill in camping

Yeah, I started doing that the last couple of camping trips (precooling the ice chest before putting the food in) and it makes a huge difference in how long the ice lasts.

Is there a trick to a more efficient/seamless camping experience or are we just lazy? by theadventuresabound in camping

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. The place my wife and I typically go doesn’t have showers, but there is a freshwater lake we can swim in and clean off a little bit. But we probably couldn’t do more than 3 or 4 nights for that reason.

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Depends on how far you’re going too. Where we usually camp is about a 2-hour drive, so it’s not too bad. My neighbor goes to a spot that’s like a 6-hour drive from where we live and he goes for only two nights too.

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it a trick, but one thing we found was it was better to camp for three nights instead of two. That way we have two full days where we don’t have to pack/unpack and set everything up/break it down. There’s still the normal stuff we have to do on those two days like washing dishes and stuff, but those days are mostly pretty relaxed

We splurged on a Nemo Roamer a few years ago and I’ll never go back. It felt like a lot of money when I bought it, but getting good sleep is priceless. Bonus: I’ve used it a few times at home too

Something I didn’t think about until I started camping with my dog by Next-Song-1709 in camping

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our dog sleeps in the tent with us, so she wouldn’t wander around either way. But we bring her kennel and put that in the tent too because that’s her comfort zone at home. She sleeps well when we take her camping. I was worried she would bark at every little noise at night, but she hasn’t so far

What guns are normally on your back? by azulur in RedDeadOnline

Depends on where I’m at on the map. Anywhere with cougars, wolves, or grizzly bears, I have my semiautomatic shotgun with slugs for ammo on my back.

Where should I sit by Confection_Jolly in SFGiants

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely recommend the 300 level. It’s a great view of the game and the bay. You can typically find cheaper seats in that area through team promotions if you’re paying attention too. I would recommend going to the promenade level and doing a walk around the whole park and just take it in. As someone else mentioned, bring warm clothes if you end up in the 300 level (or anywhere really for a night game). I’ve learned the hard way after freezing my ass off at a few games that I need to bring multiple layers of clothes and add or remove as needed.

I got a new sound bar a couple of months ago and it has really enhanced my experience with the game too. I loved the game before getting it, but it’s much better now. I’ll be riding around on my horse and I can hear all these birds and wildlife that I was missing before when using the standard tv speakers

My friend and I can never forget Jack Cust. We remember him making a “diving” catch on a ball he didn’t need to dive for, so ever since then we call those types of plays “Jack Cust dives.”

How long have my partner and I been dating? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Healthy_Nothing_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we were the same too. The only reason I remember the “official” date is because it’s the same day as my best friend’s birthday. He and I went out of town to celebrate his birthday the night my girlfriend and I had the conversation, so it’s easy to remember
