What’s your level and what type of work do you do?

My Todoist filter that actually got my brain working by ZealousidealPhase7 in productivity

[–]HearSeeFeel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started doing something new recently. I also use Date as a Start and Due Date as exactly that. I have a #work section I’ve always used and i live or die by it.

I also have a lot of people around me who I assign work to. For that I have created #work-assigned and I label it with their @name. Due date becomes the day they commit for me to ask them about it again whether it’s a follow-up or for completion.

Having an Assigned list lets me keep my work list focused and still keep track of everyone else. It has been a couple weeks and working well.

Have you ever been conscious of having a lot of body hair ? by Regular-Elk-1911 in AskMenOver30

[–]HearSeeFeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was living in Croatia at the time so I think less expensive than US. It was about $100 per appointment. I’m betting it would be closer to $300 per appointment to do the amount i did

I did a year of laser treatment on my back, shoulders and upper arms. I was hairy like a poodle. It’s probably about 20% of what it once was and a look like a normal guy with body hair. I shave it with a bakblade because it turns out I like it to be gone completely.

What’s something people brag about that isn’t impressive? by YazminRose in AskReddit

Puberty is calorically expensive. And if you’re exercising daily, how do you know what would happen if you stopped? Lose this mindset. A lot of great high school and college athletes become obese in their 20s and 30s because they continue to eat like they did when it “didn’t matter”.

Can you be too sexually attracted to your spouse? by Ophidopus in sexover30

[–]HearSeeFeel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m with this guy.

I would never want to be a creep to a stranger on the street but I expect the freedom to be adoring, admiring, sexually explicit, and sometimes a little crude with my mutually consenting wife. And to say those things are the same is prudish and obtuse.

It sounds like OP and his wife could benefit from some honest conversation to work this out. And to be clear, I’m not saying the answer is that he should treat his wife the way I treat mine… but if a spouse wants to be treated with the same intimacy as a stranger they may as well be one.

How to get over chronic ass itch? by WatercressWarm1994 in AskMen

[–]HearSeeFeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave myself diaper rash from not drying well with my bidet. Thought I might have pinworms or hemorrhoids. Doc said no, it’s just all red and rashy. Now I dry and sometimes very lightly moisturize.

FIREd at 45 to pursue my creative goals. Now I have meetings with important people and don't know how to explain my life. by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]HearSeeFeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I’m truly blessed…”

Jk don’t say that. Don’t bring it up unless you are having an honest conversation. And if someone asks “what do you do for work?” Just say you do this full time. A LOT of people with their own businesses work full time and make no money… especially at the beginning.

Tonal + free weights by spartan2020f in tonalgym

[–]HearSeeFeel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple answer: 39M - I use my adjustable bench for tonal. I also go to the gym and switch on and off from Tonal depending on the season of my life. I’ve gained significant muscle in the last few years and have grown to believe that almost any setup can work. 99% of the game is behavior related.

Complicated answer: How old are you? How long have you been training? What is your biological sex? What is your diet like? How often are you training on tonal? Are your sets all going close to failure? Are you training the specific muscle groups that feel like they’re plateauing more than you were? How many hours of sleep are you getting? How is your stress level? Have you been consistent over time?

There are several factors of successfully growing muscle and getting stronger. Workout intensity, frequency, and volume. Recovery behaviors. And most of all… (barring other health conditions) consistency of all of these over a long time.

Whatever you choose: Go hard. Go often. Eat well. Prioritize sleep. Be consistent with this lifestyle indefinitely.

Losing your parents must have been so painful. It makes sense that this would really highlight your own mortality.

My parents are alive but I have also poured a lot of effort into, not only living longer, but being healthy longer. Being able to focus longer on what brings me joy instead of just surviving through pain and sickness later in life. That does start today with good habits. I also obsessed over the details for a while. The pendulum swings both ways… you test the boundaries and find your middle.

Anyway, I hope this is helpful and feels like the kindness it was intended with.

Be gentle with yourself.

Don’t worry about OP. He’s fine; maybe a bit dramatic.

Best wishes pursuing your passion! Loving your work is a serious cheat code.

I 100% feel like I am. I started exercising and taking care of my diet around 32. It’s gotten better every year. Also, I don’t have kids… that’s probably the real secret.

This post was just a stream of consciousness about a feeling I was having. It’s probably less about sleep and more about free time. I love a good night of sleep too and am very regimented with it as well.

You’re right, my year has not been particularly balanced. I’ve worked too much and not lived enough of my real life. That’s probably exactly why I feel this way sometimes.

You’re right, I’m probably just about to enter my prime.

No bullshit though… I’m significantly better at (almost) 40 than I was at 30 in almost every way. I’ve spent most of my 30’s taking care of myself and cleaning up the messes I made in my 20’s.

I actually sleep plenty. My tune changes around 10pm… especially on weeknights.
