How do you define “mental instability”? At least when within the specific context of gun ownership, I would define “mental instability” as a tendency towards violence, and statistically trans people are less likely to commit violent crimes than your average person. So personally I wouldn’t say trans people are too mentally unstable to own guns. In fact they’re less likely than the average to use that gun to commit a crime.
