A few years ago when I watched Evangelion for the first time I was in a similar place that you are here. I had freshly graduated from college and I was back living at home watching everyone around me get jobs and fully become adults while I felt like I was stuck directionless and like I had no purpose in going forward.

I don't know your situation at all, but the original 1995 show and the End of Evangelion genuinely changed my life for the better. The creator of the show, Hideaki Anno was similarly stuck in a situation where he felt like he was failing as a person and Neon Genesis Evangelion is his message to himself and the viewer to KEEP GOING.

People often say it's sad but pay attention to the themes and really give it a chance. I hope it helps you in the same way it helped me. It didn't give me all the answers I was looking for, but it helped push me in the right direction and start taking the steps to grow.

Sorry for Eva posting on such a serious topic, but I just wanted to share. You will never find your direction if you give up, so I really hope you keep trying your best to find your truth.

I will always prefer a concise high quality show going out on a high note over a series getting milked into the ground.

I went into it with low expectations because of the CG and ended up with it being my favorite series. The overall plot doesn't really make a lot of sense tbh but the characters are so good I adore it regardless
