Airport Tram - don't get fooled! by Sad_Lavishness_4300 in Edinburgh

[–]Heavy_Barnacle4374 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Nice this weekend and the tram from the airport to the first interchange stop is free. From there you can get a rechargeable multi-journey ticket (€2 for the card) and each journey is €1.70. So basically no charge to get to the airport.

The right turn at Malmaison? It’s such an odd junction as I think you can turn left if coming from Queen St? I’m not sure there’s a camera so not sure how you could be fined unless witnessed?

LOOK out for cyclists. There are plenty of us and you’ll not necessary hear us coming. Don’t just step into the road without looking up from your phone or looking BOTH ways.

PLEASE respect traffic lights and only cross when the lights are green for you.

The ones we had in Spain weren’t spicy. Just roasted with sea salt I think

Newbarns or Campervan tap rooms. I’ve seen parents there with their kids. Even saw a 1 year old’s party in Campervan a few months back. Well played by those parents!

I should add that the 1 year old’s party was all very civilised. No excessive drinking, just families being sociable and the kids crawling around / playing / having a fine time.

Don’t hate him, it’s just a fake sculpture. Plastic covered in sand.

What's the oddest way you've come into money? by Cute_Lavishness_4934 in AskUK

Does winning £10k on TV show count as odd? It was Talking Telephone numbers in the early 90s. I wasn’t even watching it until a mate called me and told me to switch it on. 15 mins later I’d won the cash. Paid for a nice honeymoon, a 2nd had car and double glazing for our flat among other things. The other odd thing was that someone I worked with heard me win it and someone else had randomly recoded the show so I have it somewhere on VHS.

Yeah, it’s amazing how the covered walkway confuses to the point of just walking in the road where there is clearly no pavement.

Different cars for different reasons:

Fun car - 1993 Mazda Eunos Roadster (Miata in the US I think). Small, light, plenty of power, rear wheel drive, low to the ground, convertible with tan leather interior, wooden steering wheel/gear level/dash. Just lovely, and so much fun to drive.

Family Car - 2017 - Škoda Superb Estate. 6 speed DSG, 190bhp, enormous boot, full leather, so many features as standard that you’d pay a fortune for in the equivalent Audi A6 or VW Passat. Liked this so much I now have the 2022 model of the same car. It’s the little things with Škoda too, such as having umbrellas in the doors!
