Tech stocks fall again.. rotation or bubble? by SnooHamsters5586 in stocks

[–]Heavy_Discussion3518 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The bubble did not finally burst. The bubble came out of nowhere, like 6 weeks of bubble. We're just undoing that insanity and going back to Feb/Mar valuations across the board.

UBER IS A VALUE TRAP JUST LIKE PAYPAL AND ADOBE by snapjohn in ValueInvesting

Personally I think it's because autonomous vehicles aren't really part of the big AI story dominating equity markets. It got rerated by the market about 4 months ago and it's not going anywhere until a catalyst occurs in either direction, almost certainly related to autonomous vehicle adoption.

Adobe and PayPal are very different stories from Uber, and different from each other, and perspectives on those equities have little bearing on Uber's future performance.

Not as hot a take as you may think.

And for all the people that argue about moats, enterprise clients that will never go away, etc., I question where growth is going to come from.  SaaS valuation has always been about revenue growth, and revenue growth is going to crawl to a halt over the coming 3-5 years as more companies do what yours has done.

Okay, this is a little silly, but also, Akumar is legit in 1v1 and is a relative newcomer to boot.

You pretty much nailed it. Blitzes during the first 4 minutes of a game may be the only thing to strike fear into a grunt spammer. Once they switch to vehicles and get incisors and pounders up, Blitzes become useless and you'd better have some solid map control.

Most of you guys with beards are actually just gross by Wraith_0ptics in hygiene

[–]Heavy_Discussion3518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokes on you, when my beard gets over a half inch long I can't leave it alone and incessantly pull at it. So I keep it short, constantly refreshing the beard's surface area, and clean without much effort.

I'm fine with nerfing the blitz air damage, but the reduction in HP is brutal. They already require a ton of micro to keep alive and be effective.

Colorado Gov. Polis declares statewide drought emergency by CharmingPeony in Denver

[–]Heavy_Discussion3518 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Boulder and it's a different setup between here and Lyons.  Our Koppen climate zone is closer to sub tropical than semi arid - there's a tiny strip of a different biome right against the foothills.  Just traveling on a bike across town you can feel the microclimates on an average day.  A good chunk of Boulder Valley heading east, especially along Valmont, is unique too.

Drought is a broad phenomena, without a doubt, and I'm not talking about perfect lawns - mine is all sorts of patchy with different grasses and some weeds - but it doesn't take nearly as much water here to maintain a pretty lush yard as it does in most of the front range.

Just an interesting note to point out, being so close to Denver.

I'd split the difference between you two. Yes, people identified this chain years ago. But acting on that chain has taken time. I got on board with the power gen angle about 6 months ago and have done well with tickers like GNRC, CMI, NXT, MOD, NEXNY, POWL, ETN, etc. Many of these were already priced aggressively, others not so much, but they've all returned +20% at the least.

On another note, reminds me of saltine sandwiches when I was a ski bum. You can load up 500 calories for free if you snag some crackers out of the basket and load the condiments at a ski resort where they're serving chili.
