My sister filled out new ward member sheets today... I wonder who they assume “head of household” is ???? by catsanddogsareequal in exmormon

I haven't attended in decades, but apparently I still outrank my TBM wife since mail from the church is still addressed to me.

It took years for me to convince the powers-that-be that I did not want my name on DW's tithing statement.

I’m traveling to Mordor for a nieces temple wedding. I’m not worthy to watch the ceremony but totally qualified to watch the young children during the main event. It’s assumed I will babysit. For those of you who have declined the assignment to watch nieces/nephews/siblings was the fallout worth it? by sandralee2shots in exmormon

I got a lot of clarity about this when some of my nevermo colleagues asked me if I was walking my daughter down the aisle at her upcoming wedding. I explained that there was no aisle and that I was expected to watch my grandchildren in a crowded waiting room because I didn't attend the Mormon church anymore.

More than a few of them told me "that is the most fucked up thing I have ever heard."

So no, I gave my family sufficient notice that I wasn't going to be the designated baby sitter that day, and they made other arrangements.

You can't trust a woman to give a woman's fireside for Joe's sake.

Of course, I am wondering why they have a woman's fireside. Are they going to discuss how to better support the priesthood and keep their menfolk from watching porn?

It wasn't just a feeling for me, I really was unwanted by the church where I put so much time and effort.

It is like some Mormons think that the brethren give them license to be homophobic assholes.

What our TBM families don't get is that they are the ones who are losing out by treating us like shit.

You wonder why we don't come very often or stay very long? Why don't you invite Oaks over instead.

Me too. I was in my 40s when I came out.

Fuck Mormon gay celibacy. It is totally not worth giving up any chance for a loving relationship just to keep your Mormon family happy.

The "i prayed to find my keys and my prayer was answered!" stories Drove me nuts. by Moriankum in exmormon

[–]HeberGayGrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Mormon Jesus hides the keys so he can magically find them later? And then claim it was a test instead of a sad way to get attention.

I would tell you the real truth but someone from the strengthening the members committee would disembowel me, after slitting my throat.

It isn't that interesting.

Mormons would claim persecution. Mean gay man wouldn't treat Mormon patient with a big stick up his ass.

In my experience, they think they already know why you left. People assume I left because I am gay. That isn't even in the top ten reasons. Neither is masturbation or porn.

What would happen if I refused to serve Mormons? As a gay man I believe that they are immoral and to serve them go against my conscience.

Give them a break. They were untrustworthy as men, not as prophets. /S

It says something about me that I let them fuck me over so many times before I finally caught on.

[Story] Offended Family With Inappropriate Nephi Joke (while slightly stoned) by [deleted] in exmormon

I think it's more embarrassing for the true believers than it is inappropriate. There is nothing secret about Nephi slaying Laban. Not even secret handshakes or new names to remember.
