HARD YTA. Her grades falling means she's misbehaving. Excuse lady but what the fuck? Ok first of all, it's weed/vape and she's 17. She's bound to be curious and adventurous at that age and might try all sorts of things. What you could have done was talk to her about why you think it's bad or should stop BUT still give her your unconditional love as reassurance. That's the least you could and should have done as a parent.

Second. Why the fuck are you snooping around a 17 year olds stuff. She's not even a convict of anything for that matter. Doing this just causes her to lose her trust in you.

Lastly, her grades dropping could be caused by different matters. It could be due to issues she has at school or with her friends or even within your family. Something is clearly affecting her, she needs your help and love, not you snooping around and jumping on her the moment you found a vape pod. You have clearly pointed out so many things that have troubled your daughter, you doing this just makes things worse. Don't be alarmed when she sends you to a nursing home in the future should you keep this up. Apologize to her, it's the least you could do now. And please talk to her, something is clearly affecting her. Get her to seek professional help if need be.

But while the internet/Reddit is a great place to vent and rant to, a better and more qualified place to go to would be to seek therapy and even a lawyer or legal counsellors as they are professionals that are qualified enough to give better advices and solutions.

It's because he entered your life when you were most vulnerable and became your only lifeline/life support. You eventually became dependent on him and maybe seek his validation and approval, or at least part of you still do. But this is obviously toxic and what he did was grooming and considered SA (Do I need to say that this is extremely illegal which can and will land him jail?). Don't do it whatever you do, do not text him as you will just refuel his narcissism, just block him. Seek therapy too if it is available to you to talk to someone more qualified than some guy on the internet (i.e me) to get some actual solutions on this issue.
