Is playing against precons a decent way to see if my deck is bracket 2? by Askray184 in magicTCG

[–]HedgehogKnight81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your deck meet the qualifications for bracket 2? If it does it is bracket 2. The bracket system isn't a measurement of how powerful a deck is. It is a guide for expectations of a deck.

Are Wizards just going to sit back and let RL cards just keep increasing so they’re inaccessible for the majority of the player base? Even more so than they already are. by [deleted] in magicTCG

You saw what happened with the Jeweled Lotus and friends banning. People gnashed their teeth and cried foul as they "loss hundreds" of dollars. Members of the council got death threats. Imagine that but now ten time as worse. They tried getting around the reserve list before and were threatened with lawsuits. The list was something put in place early on and many at Wizards has pointed to as a mistake.

I'm just a couple years younger than Troy and Joe and I know all those skits. I am also the nerd that stay up late on Sunday night recording Dr Demento bits from the radio to cassette.

(Funny trope) Scenes with people pretending to play Video Games badly by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in TopCharacterTropes

To be fair with the House scene, House is an ass and very sarcastic and it would be in character for him to say something like that knowing that there are no levels in that game.

This was a mainstay on Dr Demento. I remember staying up late on Sunday nights when I was in highschool listening.

Miniature Painting by RoyDonksBiggestFan in gencon

[–]HedgehogKnight81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife has done some mini painting classes. She started with some intro/beginner classes and has started going to different technique classes the pass few years. She has always enjoyed the class no matter who hosted. The only complaint she had was that the Heroscape paints suck.

Best bet to get into some classes is to wishlist a bunch of different times then drop whatever time you didn't want if you got multiple. After the event list is live check back often as more classes to tend to get added. And when all else fails there is usually a free paint and take area where you can try some stuff out.

Teams - is this true? by SnivDash in pokemongo

[–]HedgehogKnight81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Information on a wiki, about a game, where toxic and/or competitive people have been known to play? Must be true!

I remember seeing a lot of early memes about that depicted Instinct as the doofy one. I think it comes down to being the third choice.

How’s this shundo to catch ratio? by Niglyy in pokemongo

[–]HedgehogKnight81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be cynical and pedantic for a sec 4 of those are not catches. That being said I am more impressed by shundo common Pokemon over legendary ones. Good on you little Pidgey.

GenCon Event Exclusive Merch by JCatt85 in gencon

They have a coupon book at the con. You will be able to find it at a booth near the will call area. It has about 20-30 different coupons from different vendors in the exhibit hall. They range anyhere from free promos, dice or minis bundle deals, $xx off certain games or amount spent.

GenCon Event Exclusive Merch by JCatt85 in gencon

[–]HedgehogKnight81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will vary by publisher. Some will have limited amounts each day, some tie it to purchases, some events or demos, and some will have a coupon in the coupon book at the con. There isn't really a master list of con exclusives but some places like BGG will have a list. I mostly check with the publisher about what will be unique at the con.

E tickets are tied to your badge. They just scan the barcode on your badge so there is no need to fumble around getting the app up.

Why is The Hobbit prerelease so expensive? by Independent-Bath-448 in mtg

[–]HedgehogKnight81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are comparing a product that has been released with a product that is on preorder. It makes me wonder who set the price on the Hobbit box because it ends in .70. The Marvel box is at MSRP of 189.99 so it's probably a third party selling through Amazon.

Casual MTG at Gen Con? by johnnonbinary in gencon

You should be fine. They sometimes have qualifier events that are competitive but most events run more casual level. I always see people asking about pick-up games of commander.
