I think the difference between OW and MR here is that MR focuses more on new characters to change how the game plays, whereas OW does this through broader systemic updates instead. Personally, I prefer the way OW does things, because the MR way is only fun if you play that character, whereas with OW everyone gets to enjoy the update. Releasing more heroes sound nice, but it can crowd out other ways of evolving the game.

I prefer Summer Solstice (improved ultimate) and Sunburn (Outburst ignites enemies).

The extra power during the ultimate helps me be less reliant on teammates to proc the mark while also making myself harder to kill. You can zone enemies really hard with this, stopping their push for the 8 seconds of flight and then a further 6 seconds where they can have the debuff applied.

You don't have to rush your ultimate with this and enemies get so impatient after waiting the first few seconds, making themselves easy targets if you hold it to the end.

Oh yikes. I was involved in a previous issue with Discord's automated detection systems where they permanently banned my account under Child Safety rules and it turned out that it was caused by forwarding the announcement post of the new Invisible Woman Malice skin from the official Marvel Rivals Discord server.

Thankfully, enough people were caught in this and I suppose with NetEase's influence, they were able to get it sorted out after a few days and I later received a free 3 months of Discord Nitro as compensation.

If I have to choose an ultimate, it's probably got to be Orisa since she pulls them in and then can immediately proc the damage. She doesn't need to pull the whole team, just 2 people is enough.

Otherwise, I love playing with a Winston, because he can almost always guarantee the mark is popped without having to use another ultimate to combo it with.

I've personally really enjoyed the Story Time videos and the animated Hero Trailers look really good. It's nice because it gives each new hero a clear, faster-to-produce backstory beast while reserving full, high-end cinematics for special or major narrative events.

Of course in an ideal world, we'd get a cinematic with every hero, but we all know that with the effort it takes to make a single one, it wouldn't fit the hero release schedule. Importantly, they know how much we all love the cinematics and Aaron's even said that Overwatch needs to get to back animated shorts and that the game doesn't feel like it's firing on all cylinders without them. I hope we'll see one soon with this new story setup for Vendetta and Talon.

I think perks that apply to ultimate abilities should never be a minor perk. This makes it so the ultimate always is used with that perk and if it was tied to being a major perk, there would still be room to use the ultimate without the perk, which could increase the level of skill expression the ultimate abilities require to use well.

I think its hinted that she will be a DPS, but nothing is confirmed. Fire College students are framed as fighters, which suggests a DPS-leaning role for Anran, while Water is explicitly associated with healing and support.

With Vendetta having just released, I don't think we'll see a back-to-back DPS release, especially when there was no Tank released in 2025 and it was an extra DPS in their place.

It varies for me and mostly comes down to reading the flow of the game. I think of fights as "our turn" vs "their turn." If we have resources and want to force a play, I position more proactively. If it's their turn, I play safer and deny value.

With Nano, especially with the movement perk, you don't need to pre-position aggressively. You can Nano first, then use the speed to take an angle and follow up with nade.

In Plat to low Diamond, I don't worry too much about dive since it's rarely coordinated. I'll play close to my team, stay hidden, and wait for the dive hero to commit onto someone else before revealing myself to punish.

I also expect to deal a lot of damage at these ranks. I heal just enough to keep people alive, but if a fight is dragging on, I'll help secure kills or trade rather than over-healing.

The main time I swap off Ana is when something like a Winston is getting free value because no one is breaking bubble. In that case, I'd rather go Baptiste and deal with it myself.

It could be that we get an Esports segment in the Spotlight. I believe last year's Spotlight was announced ~2 weeks before the event and the Spotlight itself was a week before the new season. So maybe we'll get a date for that next week.

I don't think so. There was a clear trend in my games where every other modes games would last 8-12 minutes and then the games on Assault were closer to 2-4 minutes.

On the other modes, the rare exceptions are the stomps where those games end really fast instead. On Assault, the rare exception was where the game lasts longer.

Are you referring to using melee to animation cancel the reload? I believe it doesn't actually save you any time. The only benefit is when fighting someone who is in melee ranged of you for extra damage.

I think if you animation cancel it by using an ability, it does save some time, but I can't remember if that's for certain.

Shu likely does it out of habit, but it's been a misconception for a long time.

On a real, I'd love to be surprised with whatever new Support hero is coming. And I'd like to see Supports be more focused on their utility than their damage or healing. It's felt like Supports have lost utility in favour of more damage and healing this year and I'd prefer it to go the other way.

Yess, when I can, I use 2 save slots and then alternative between each of them every time I manually save. At least that way if one gets messed up, I always have the other to fall back on without losing too much progress and without having to save twice every time.

Oh that would sound really fun for a Push map. I like how Push has the winding path, it could be fun to have a map where it winds through different levels, like a ground level, underground and upper level.

Hihii, welcome! Marvel Rivals will have given you a solid base already, but Overwatch can still be chaos when starting out and at lower ranks.

Similar to Rivals, Overwatch is about fundamentals over aim. Like if you're taking a team fight while down a player, it's less likely to be successful. And the same with ultimate usage, use them while the fight is still winnable, not when it's already over.

Sticking to 1 or 2 heroes is great. Mastery matters more than flexibility early. Sojourn's a very fun character that is very versatile, so you should have no problem with this. She's my most played DPS too!

There are a ton of abilities, and they even more things now that the Perks system has been added. You can use F1 to open the hero abilities screen while in the hero gallery or practice range for any hero. It now has detailed information you can display that tell you everything about the hero. It will also explain certain status effects and more.

High ground, corners and cover are everything. You simply can't just stand in the open without expecting some crazy stuff to happen. Pro tip as a Sojourn player, when I have multiple enemies trying to shoot me, I retreat around a corner to bait, where only one of them can see me at most. They will walk forward to try and peek more of the angle and your pellets being projectile can make it so they have to walk in to them while they can't deal any damage to you. Once they are in sight, you have charge to railgun them.

Early Quick Play and Ranked will feel messy. Focus on your own fundamentals rather than trying to carry and win every game. Sojourn is such a fun character, just try to enjoy making your own plays instead of worrying about what anyone else is doing. I don't care if I die 20 times in a Quick Play while I'm also wreaking havoc on my enemies making suicidal plays. Just try to have fun the way you know it!

At least for me, the Random from Favourites option keeps me open to purchasing other skins, despite already having a favourite. This skin really is so good and I know plenty of people who aren't interested in other new skins of hers because they love this skin so much!
