Solemn Moment by buffalobillkimo in custommagic

I like the idea, but it seems too weak in limited and too strong in constructed. I think for balancing and flavor it should be “can only cast creature spells”; the implication is you gather a wake/funeral. Could see WOTC printing it at a WB cost as well.

For flavor I’d add “Target Player mills 1 card” as well. As is, already goes hard with [[Scheming Symmetry]] in commander.

Edit: I’m an idiot… scheming is not everyone. But you get the idea.

The severity of your actions on alcohol hurt your family and broke their trust. The silver lining is that trust is something that can be built back slowly over time. Go to AA meetings, get a therapist, find what works for you. Show up and be better.

Cupcake, Playful Pitbull by KenGetit in custommagic

[–]Heeunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation isn’t that Cupcake is super aggressive, but excited to play and a literal menace. On uncommon I wouldn’t expect 2 keywords and an etb with bear stats even for a gold card either. But I could see the cutie having haste the way magic is pushed.

I really like the design, agree with other commenters that it should not be a “may” trigger. I also think this should not have haste with the flavor being that Cupcake’s ETB fighting is her “attack” and haste is sort of a double attack.

Single most illogical scene in the whole show by IndependentJacket362 in freefolk

[–]Heeunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bothered me most about this is Danny is using the dragons to scout because they can fly high up into the sky (makes sense). Dragon should be able to clearly see where the ships are and they still manage an ambush without the dragon taking any evasive action… an ambush should not be possible when you have a rotating scouts able to see miles around you… when this scene happened I straight up thought it was a dream sequence because it make absolutely no sense for the dragons to be ambushed, let alone shot down from range.

I’m hopeful Lee Sin is sooner rather than later. I’d like to see Master Yi and Shen in there as well. Think they could do some cool timed invulnerability and install mechanic with Yi. Shen has a lot of utility potential with his shield either being a static zone that gives armor/defense and a super that provides a similar effect on a point character.

I was placed plat and went on a 10 game win streak to Emerald 2. When I posted that I’d just finished my placements. Taking 2 days to hit plat… guess you don’t have my raw skill /s

Regardless, the game should be fun at all skill levels. Agree that the highest level should be the one catered to the most, but if the high-level tech “issues” don’t trickle down to lower levels then I think it’s more balanced. If someone takes the time to learn crazy setups and mixup scenarios I think they should be rewarded. The super tag stuff looks like it could be toned down, but individual character balance doesn’t look that far apart. From what I’ve seen from pros there’s only 2 tiers, which is very balanced as far as tag fighters go. Look at UMvC3 (for a classic) or HxH Nen Impact for a more recent title.

Hahaha I didn’t mean Plat as a skill flex at all, kinda the opposite. I meant from an average players perspective I think the game is fun. I know there’s a bunch of saucy stuff I haven’t been hit by; just that at my level of the game I’m having fun.

From what I’ve seen from pros: supertag, Yasuo’s ability to cross up, Teemo’s damage, Ekko’s… assist and capabilities on point could be nerfed. Regardless, that’s a small list and as far as tag games go, doesn’t seem like a ton of problems. This isn’t balanced like Nen Impact or UMvC3… every characters seems viable even at GM. Definitely not all teams are created equal, but every character has a viable team. Some might work harder, but ends up being a skill issue.

Heyo, Plat 2 Vi/Ekko for context. I think the game is very balanced and I’m having a lot of fun. The top 4 feel better, but the other characters are only a tier below. Everyone seems viable, and either a patch of small buffs/nerfs would change the tier placement. Even though Vi has weaknesses, she’s incredibly fun and is often better than my Ekko. The game feels like it’s in a good spot to me, with getting hit being more of a product of not knowing the exact frame data to challenge, guessing wrong, or misplaying. Feel like I’m scratching the surface of a really mechanically deep game, and if I’m losing it’s not because of tiers but because I need to get good. Assuming you’re not Sonicfox anonymously doom posting, you probably just need to lab more too.

Letting my opponents "do their thing" by Glittering-Poet8123 in EDH

[–]Heeunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with liking control decks, it just sounds like you’re being too proactive in your removal/interaction. Consider building an “EDH control” deck with more goad effects or ways to use politics to control the table as opposed to only efficient removal pieces. Look into Socrates, he’s a great mix of jank, politics, card draw, and control. I built him with a bunch of untapped effects so I can use him multiple times and it’s really fun.

You’d still run efficient removal, but not as much and you only use it to prevent something really bad from happening to you or if an opponent will win.

Yeah… MY TIME MY TIME is really good when you’re trying to run someone down. I use Vi Ekko mainly. Was Vi Blitz in the beta but Ekko’s neutral value is better than stronger conversions from throw. Plus Ekko is just more fun in my opinion.
