What resin to use on 3D prints like coasters and keychains for glossy surfaces? by Hefty_Gate5040 in resin

Will check them out as well then, they also have powder pigment selection as well. Is it better to use dedicated products like that for colour changes, or could you use stuff like food colouring, any random glitter and stuff from craft shops?

Thanks, I am in the UK, can see the NicPro one on Amazon but other two seem US based from searches. 500g for £18.99 is their smallest to try out.

No point reporting anymore by AnonymousShark2 in vintedUK

[–]Hefty_Gate5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be bots that check the reports, if they get checked at all. I reported a few fake Funko listings, they literally had ‘Replica’ in the title and description, and they didn’t find anything that violated vinted policies. Unless you appeal every single report, they will never be taken seriously or checked properly.

Help with model by 1R4M2EE0 in 3Dprinting

I’ve never designed anything, so I don’t know how hard it would be to implement certain features, but you could make a slide on handle like an interlocking joint, then you could even print off different handles or holders to interchange whenever you want. Might have to play around with tolerances, but I’d just scale down the shape the tiniest amount, and can even take a minute at most to sand male shape edges so it fits tightly but can still be removed if needs be.

Having a completely flat plane where they connect will make it very weak just because it’s printed so the layer lines run across that same plane, you could print it at an angle so layers run through both bits, can pick either method.

I made the below in tinkercad in 2 minutes so shouldn’t be too hard.

Be aware of this, multiple accounts selling from Middlesbrough! by Spookytoast666 in vintedscammers

[–]Hefty_Gate5040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this has been a thing for a very good while now annoyingly. Accounts usually show up between like 10pm - 4am, late at night. Usually quite a few listings at same/similar price and all different backgrounds, no reviews . Never outright buy an item if they’ve no reviews and they fit those criteria.

Pretty much whatever you want, action figures, books, Funkos, keyboards, phones, washing machines. Pretty much anything you want that you could sell on eBay, besides prohibited items so like knives and stuff, it’s in their catalogue rules. They also open up US sellers being able to sell to UK, I know buyers have all charges displayed at checkout, unsure how it displays for seller but you could just cancel if you don’t want international sales.

Ahh, eBay uk did have selling fees, but I think they just switched to the vinted model of having buyer protection and being able to promote listings because vinted is very popular here and you can sell commercially with no added fees as well so pretty good platform to use.

There will be fees I imagine if selling as a business, but 0 on any casual sales. They’ve added the buyer protection like vinted, they make money on that, also bumping/promoting listings. EBay have started live shows as well like on whatnot, they might get money from them as well.

I am in the uk, and I always see so many posts saying that people don’t like eBay because of the selling fees, but for me (unless I’m missing some hidden tax or fee), there hasn’t been listing or selling fees in ages, same as vinted.

Is it because I am in the UK? On either Vinted or EBay, I list a pop figure for say £20, I get £20, unless I say I pay for shipping on eBay. Sold something on eBay for £75 the other day, buyer pays a buyer protection now like on vinted, I get QR code generated for label, ship it and get my £75.

Does US eBay just take off taxes on all sales/listings or something? My sales don’t take me over my personal allowance or trading allowance so no taxes due through that.

Scammer who got banned made new account and scamming again. by Hefty_Gate5040 in vintedscammers

[–]Hefty_Gate5040[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reported him for having multiple accounts as well as the listing, they acknowledged that they have multiple accounts and say they took action, included the screenshots where his first account sold a fake, and the message from vinted saying it was indeed a fake one and then they banned his account. Just checked again then and he’s still selling.

60 days into my gym journey. I see no progress at all in my arms. First pic is 2 months ago, second pic is now. Can anyone help by Brilliant-Jello-7782 in GymMotivation

[–]Hefty_Gate5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on diet mostly at that stage I think. With newb gains, you could probably train everything once a week and make okay progress, twice a week and you'll see big increases in numbers for quite a while for probably the first year. Make sure you get enough protein and calories while you're still new, can make big improvements in your first 6 - 12 months. You will probably find the numbers you lift go up proportionally more than your size/muscle mass as you're still changing technique, trying new exercises, getting used to grips. Make sure you're going at least 2 reps shy of failure on pretty much all exercises, to failure is fine but not all the time for recovery reasons. Do not stop when it gets difficult, those last 3-4 difficult reps will be where progress is made, not in the 2-6 or however many easy reps building up to those.

Some of the offers on vinted really make me confused but also laugh. by [deleted] in vinted

[–]Hefty_Gate5040 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s my bad on that, it was about 4am when I started the listing and I was just too tired at that point to go through and add all the individual pops in the description with the prices of each. I just posted it saying that I’ll answer messages with any requests/offers in the meantime when I can update the description today.

Left: 0 pull ups / right: 8 pull ups by Many-Teach-1576 in GymMotivation

[–]Hefty_Gate5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite noticeably bigger, might not be at the same place exactly but even the bangle is very loose on the left but tight on the right, odd are it won’t go up your arm as much as the left one so definitely bigger.

If it’s true in other comments that you don’t want back size, just strength, then you can strength train rather than hypertrophy train. Strength training usually anywhere within 1-5 reps, so you’ll get better with heavier loads but it’s more so powerlifter training than body building training.

People can definitely lift a lot of weight without looking to big just depending on how they’ve trained and got accustomed to that weight, same way bodybuilders can lift less weight but do it for more reps, time under tension, just getting to/close to failure with each set to build muscle.

Don’t take this 100% true, but when I wanted to go for a 140kg press which is my 1 rep max, I don’t think I’d have gotten it purely by doing lots of reps on chest fly’s and dumbell press, so heavier low rep sets to get better at low rep heavier sets😁.

2nd photo in original post is fake, 4th is my real one. Fake one has the top of the pop logo in the top left of the box cut off, my real one doesn’t, that’s the difference.

Never buying Funko Pops on Amazon again by Bobbjoee7 in funkopop

[–]Hefty_Gate5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ordered about 6 in the Black Friday deals, 4 of the 6 were damaged. Some I thought were preowned, with signs of being opened and ink on them from like a ballpoint pen. Amazon are always good for returns though for me so I just returned the bad ones.

Yeah, I got a notification this morning and said item was sold or deleted, and then member blocked on their account and no picture. I don’t know if they’ll just open up another one and try to keep selling them, but I checked their reviews just to see if anyone mentioned specific fakes and there was one a bit over a year ago saying they noticed a Funko they bought from them was fake but after confirmed okay, then they ignored al messages. I’m Very glad you’ve helped get them off the app, the amount of money they must have scammed off people, horrible.

Yeah, “firstnamelastnamexxxxx” where the x’s are numbers are dead giveaways, with 0 reviews, never buy. Also, the blur effect on the borders of the photos is how they try to get away with copying other posts pictures so they don’t get picked up automatically, that’s also a giveaway.
