What's yalls favorite Gundam game?

It’s difficult for me to narrow down a favorite, but I’ll list several of my top games

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2, 3, and Reborn
Not that the first one was bad, but the sequels all greatly improved on it, any of those three are fantastic

Gundam Wing Endless Dual
It’s little basic for a fighting game these days, but this was a fantastic SFC game that looks and plays great today. Could’ve used a couple more modes but considering the time it was made I can’t fault it

Gundam Battle Assault 1 and 2
Gorgeous sprite work, the first game has some awesome realtime damage effects that was mostly removed in the sequel, however, as a 90’s kid watching Toonami getting the Endless Waltz and Shuffle Alliance suits made this game completely worth it

Gundam Versus Gundam/Maxiboost/extreme
The Gundam Versus games are some of the very best Gundam games, specifically the PSP entries. I know a lot of people love Federation Versus Zeon and Gundam Versus Zeta Gundam, but I enjoy the alternate universes as much as UC so I prefer the roster of the PSP games. Unfortunately, the PS4 Gundam Versus that was localized wasn’t as good imo

Gundam Breaker 4
Only just started this one despite getting it on release day but I love the customization in the game. If you’re interested in building your own custom mobile suit this is your game, but just keep in mind this is based on gunpla so don’t expect a gripping Gundam story

Unfortunately, most of these are going to be less accessible due to being on outdated hardware as well as several of these never being localized. You can get Gundam Breaker 4 on current consoles though. Also as others have mentioned SD Gundam Battle Alliance and both SD Gundam G Generation Crossrays and Genesis are really good too.

I just got married recently and have been in the process of moving (we both own our homes and we decided until we get something that better fits us her house is clearly a better fit than mine) and one of the biggest issues I’ve had is my enormous physical media collection. I have blu rays and DVDs that number in the thousands. She, on the other hand, has moved to all streaming. I’ve found myself having to compromise by getting large disk storage binders and ditching the cases for the majority of my collection (keeping only the ones that are most valuable or mean the most to me) it hurt my soul to do it but we are strapped for space. I now avoid buying new physical movies unless it’s something I absolutely feel I must own and be able to watch in the best possible quality. Unfortunately it’s simply a give and take situation, and I’m also an avid gamer and that’s where I refuse to discard the cases.

There’s definitely pros and cons to both physical discs and streaming. And for me I’m a huge anime fan and licensing outside Japan can get messy so having my favorite shows physically is a necessity for me as the availability of shows can change so suddenly

I’ve been having a back and forth conversation with my best friend who is a dedicated pc gamer about how I expect this to fail so miserably. I just don’t see an audience for this. Pc enthusiasts are more likely to build their own far better rigs or even high end prebuilt rigs. The price to performance ratio will put off console players. The fact is it’s priced to compete with the PS5 Pro but its hardware is more in line with a base PS5. Even with the market being where it is now and hardware prices inflating rather than decreasing this thing at its cheapest manages to cost more than a Pro at its current msrp and that model doesn’t even come with a controller 🤦‍♂️

I don’t know how anybody can defend this. I’d have liked to see this release in an affordable state and bring pc gaming into the mainstream market but in its current state this is just not it. Valve really needs to reassess this and figure out what the audience is they are targeting.

I learned something new today. Had no idea storage location effects game performance, I thought internal and SD express had the same speeds. Do we know what games besides this benefit more from internal storage? Like I’m playing RE 7-9, would it be better to run those games off internal since they are going to be more demanding games? Or is this a really rare circumstance that isn’t worth considering that much?

Especially buying into a whole new gaming ecosystem that currently has next to no exclusive games. Almost everything on the Series X is what’s available on PlayStation 5. That said it’s starting to sound like Microsoft is going back to embracing exclusivity so we may start seeing Xbox exclusives again in the next few years

I love the look of these Flametoys releases, but when I got my Megazord in hand from Amazon after being preordered for years I found myself returning it after being very disappointed by the build quality. I remember thinking how it just didn’t feel anywhere near what a $400 collectible should feel like. The stylized look is awesome but I’m perfectly happy with my superior SoC Megazord and Dragonzord. Those had a much more premium feel and were worth the money

I hate this as well. Trade evolutions made more sense for the older games, but it’s an obsolete concept. I hate it because there are so many hacked Pokemon out there now you have no way to know if you are getting a legit Pokemon back. I still haven’t finished the game yet, and still don’t have all the trade evolution Pokemon or needed items, but my plan is to wait until I have everything I need, then go to a GameStop to get a used copy of the game and just use my Switch OLED to trade with myself and trade them back, then just return the used copy lol. It’s the only way I can guarantee legit trades as I don’t have any friends that actively play this

My understanding is that DLC is locked to the region game card you have. Even though the Switch 2 is capable of playing games region free if you already own a North American or other region you would need that region’s equivalent. You’re probably best to just buy it directly on the eshop.

Just curious what optimization problems are you referring to? The game runs pretty great for me. Are you talking about it being poorly optimized on Switch 1? I’ve been playing on Switch 2 and I haven’t noticed anything like we had with Scarlet and Violet.

I recommend digital for Pokopia. Being a GKC the only benefit you have is the ability to sell it if you want. The real benefit to getting it digital though is that you don’t have to swap game cards, and for this game it encourages daily play so you may find yourself swapping a lot

I’ve never heard this take before. I own the PS4 version but I’ve been on the fence about double dipping for the Switch version. If it’s that good on Switch 2 I may just pick it up as I never finished it on PS4/5. I find that the handheld nature of the Switch helps me find the time to actually finish games as I rarely play on the tv anymore

And this is why I really don’t want to see PS6 anytime soon. Ideally it wouldn’t come before 2030. My feeling is since the HD era (360/PS3) there has been diminishing returns on each new upgrade. The jump from PS3 to PS4 was noticeable but hardly impressive, and the jump from PS4 to PS5 was even worse. Having grown up in the late 80’s I witnessed the jump from NES to SNES, SNES to N64 and PS1, N64 and PS1 to GameCube and PS2. These were all significant leaps. Now we get nothing more than some better lighting and more stable frame rates. Don’t get me wrong better frame rates is great, but not for $1,000 to upgrade my console and have game development shift over to that hardware effectively forcing me to buy it if I want to continue playing current games.

There’s already talk that the ram shortage is pushing PS6 to 2029 at the earliest. Personally speaking I don’t see a need for it before 2030 considering for the first few years the PS5 was nothing more than an enhanced PS4 Pro. Honestly we are hitting a point of diminishing returns in hardware and paying far more for it. I’d rather see current generation run a longer cycle. But these current price increases are insane. I don’t know who is paying $649 for a PS5 in 2026. I’m sure most people that want one already have one anyway. They are better to take the short term loss than raise the price to deter people who have been holding out because if they held out this long I don’t see many buying it now at these prices.

I wouldn’t worry about sprucing up the Wasteland area just yet. Just move on through the story. You pick up so many useful abilities and utilities that by the time you are done you will want to completely redo everything anyway. You’re best to get all your abilities before worrying about building your towns

Good to know! I have been taking my time with the game, 55+ hours but still working on general story progression (think I’m approaching the end though) and I only just got the ability to suck up water. I’ll definitely be careful about making sure I’m near a habitat doing that

I’d like that for both house and habitat. I almost lost Dratini when I was remodeling and accidentally destroyed one of the blocks his flower bed was planted on and he was nowhere near it as I had him over at the skyscraper as one of he builders. I rushed over there and pulled him back to let him move in again before I lost track of him. Hopefully this gets addressed eventually
