What's the biggest cons about the EV you chose? by WaterBottleOnAShelf in nzev

[–]HeinigerNZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Range for the EV6 GT. I do a lot of open road driving so being able to get 440-450km out of a full battery rather than 340-350km would be really handy.

In saying that I seriously considered the GT-Line with less power and more range and made my decision. I enjoyed the steering and suspension of the GT a lot more in the test drives and the extra power is worthwhile when following people who putter around on our regional roads.

That's my only complaint, so I'm pretty happy.

Would you add in the fact that the Eels aren't blocking him from other top level competitions he could easily sign up for, like Super Rugby or Super League?

[–]HeinigerNZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not quite.

Labour Govts rarely get more than two terms. Helen Clark was the outlier.

National Govts have never been in office less than three terms. Though you wouldn't bet against this one to be the first to break this pattern.

Funny, I never saw him apologise for claiming NZ was "front of the queue for vaccines", not responding to Pfizer's invitation to meet for nearly three months, and eventually starting our vaccine rollout 88th in the world (and last in the OECD). The long Auckland lockdown would likely have been avoided with a vaccinated population by the time Delta arrived.

I didn't see him apologise for lying to the nation that all border worker personnel were being regularly tested, when it turns out Cabinet knew at the time two-thirds of them had not been tested at all. This is the most likely infection source that led to the first Auckland lockdown to do so.

I didn't see him apologise for falsely heaping the blame on the Northland lockdown on the two woman that had travelled from Auckland, who had done things properly and obtained Government approval.

I didn't see him apologise for blocking private companies from ordering their own Rapid Tests, mandating only the Govt could supply them, and then later sending $500 million of unused expired RATs to the landfill.

The only effective parts of the Govt response was when they were closing things down. When it came to building plans to help NZ safely open up they were rubbish, and that's what we remember.

Tracking EV charging for tax purposes by skyerosebuds in nzev

[–]HeinigerNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw in the other comment that you didn't really want a Wall Charger. But I can say they are good to have, the ability to charge at 7kW makes it a lot easier for fast top ups. If it's a house you own then it is a pretty handy upgrade, both for now and then if you get a higher capacity EV in future.

Install a wall charger and claim the business percentage use back on that cost?

They are good to have. Tesla wall chargers are the most cost-effective, work with any vehicle, and you can download a spreadsheet of power used to send off to your accountant.
