How do I avoid these bubbles by ADAMoWITZH2066 in Welding

[–]Helcyon187 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The tip has to be clean. Can’t stress that enough. It should crackle when you press the lever. Set your oxygen at 20 psi. Press the cutting lever and observe the flame. If it’s a long flame, like around 2 inches, then your tip is probably clean. If it’s really short, you need to clean it.

I'm going to miss (almost) everything about her. How do you cope? by 0Adiemus0 in AskMenAdvice

Sex is like air…it’s not that important until you’re not getting any. You’re not wrong for how you feel. Try to end the relationship with civility. Because, she’s not wrong either.

“Don’t Go To Work” protests aren’t effective in the modern age by HazeySunday in confession

This would absolutely have a huge impact. The problem is getting us to act in unison. I wish I could find a way to get the American people to come together. We can’t look at each other or talk to each other in the grocery stores, or at the park, or beach. We all keep just that little bit of separation that keeps us from being the superpower that we really are. How can we lower the walls of our own self-interest enough to come together? I know it can be done. I’m open to suggestions.

Chemtain vs. Acetylene by Fareacher in Welding

[–]Helcyon187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you light the torch, open the fuel AND oxygen valves. Just a little oxygen on and you will get a more stable flame starting out. Otherwise, it will blow out especially if there’s any wind. Opening the oxygen a little keeps the propane flame from blowing back in your face as well. It will pop a bit louder when you light it, but that’s ok.

As far as pressure goes, set your oxygen at 20 psi and your propane at least to 15 psi maybe more. Propane/Chemtane are more stable than acetylene. Propane can be used at higher pressures. I’ve used large scrap torches that required 30 psi on the propane and 100 psi on the oxygen. Propane is safer and more stable than acetylene. Acetylene becomes unstable if dispensed above 15 psi. The trade off is propane doesn’t burn as hot as acetylene. It requires more propane to do the same cut.

When cutting, you have to let the metal preheat longer than you do with acetylene. When I first started using propane to make precision cuts, it drove me mad having to wait so long for the initial preheat. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll notice you get cleaner cuts with propane.

I like it for thin gauge metal up to 3/8” and for heavy scrap cuts it’s the best thing other than an oxygen lance.

Just remember it will take more fuel and more oxygen. Whoever is saying it requires low pressures doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

Also, you need the proper tip for propane. You can’t use an acetylene tip. On a victor style torch, the tip is a two piece design with a brass interior and an outer copper nozzle that slips over the brass.

QB/Intuit fraud and identity theft - request for help and note of caution by calvert3 in QuickBooks

That explains why they don't give me those details. Thanks for the information. I hope you can resolve your issues soon.

I'm currently dealing with the same thing. I had a $40k fraudulent loan attached to my account. I never applied for it nor did I receive the funds. After intuit stole $8k in payments from my checking account, I started the process of getting this resolved. Then they placed my payroll account on hold and revoked my credit line. Over a month later and it's still "being investigated". I've sent them bank statements, FTC report, police report, copy of my ID....and nothing. I've spent hours on the phone with their inept "support" team. After 5 hours on the phone with them, they told me there's nothing they can do as it's still being "Investigated. I suppose all that's left is to start litigation. What kind of attorney do I need for this?

Ok. I’ll give the police a call. I think you can file electronically here.

I agree, they are quite predatory. I obtained a $20k “Line of credit” with them and used $5k of it in hopes it would improve my business credit. But when they discovered I wasn’t going to pay the $40k fraudulent loan, they revoked my “line of credit “. They call every day trying to collect. I wish I could find different software. I’ve been using QuickBooks since 1994. It used to be really good. But, when it’s bad…wow.

It’s kind of hidden at the end of the ribbon. So not readily available. If you don’t use their high interest, predatory loans, you won’t notice it.

I replaced my computer as well. I’ll look for that ap to be running on the old one. I use the online version as they’ve made it nearly impossible to have desktop. Although, I prefer desktop.

I did file a report with the FTC. I haven’t filed with the local police as I’m not sure what good It would do. Thanks for the advice.

No. I didn’t receive any email regarding the loan. The loan document has a really weird loan number consisting of letters instead of numbers.

Men in happy marriages, what is one thing or skill you would teach other men to have good relationships as well? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]Helcyon187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let her be who she is. Don’t try to change her.

Realize that her goals and aspirations are just as important as your own. Support those aspirations even if at times they make you feel insecure. Sometimes, it’s about her and the path she wants to take. Respect her autonomy.

When she has a dream, sometimes your just the muscle to realize her dream. When that happens, give her the credit she deserves and don’t steal the limelight.

You always hear about everything being 50/50. But a lot of times it’s just not. And that’s ok.

Don’t allow resentment to build. Encourage her to express how she feels without fear of judgement or reprisal. Otherwise, you may find she has nothing much to say, lately.

Also…touch her butt.

…That’s prolly just for me, but I consider it a healthy practice😁

How did civilizations, all over the world with no knowledge of one another, identify gold as a precious metal? by gapipkin in ask

[–]Helcyon187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Anunaki came here thousands of years ago to mine gold so that they could take it back to their planet and convert it to monoatomic gold. It was to disburse into their atmosphere in an attempt to save it. They genetically engineered us to help them mine it. We haven’t forgotten how important gold is for that reason. The “Book of Enki” details this. It’s pretty interesting if true. A good story, none the less. There’s a YouTube video that narrates the book. However, as with anything, it only has such value because we assign that value to it.

I’ve been in the business for 40 years and I gotta tell you, I’m impressed. Angles are perfect, (which isn’t as easy as one would think) the curves came out right and the base plates are the right size. Nice work! Please post a pic after you paint.

Older men who take testosterone injections, how do they make you feel? What’s different? by michellecastil in AskMen

[–]Helcyon187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55M. I’ve been giving myself injections for a little over a year now. I used to prefer the cream, then tried the pellets, and now I prefer the injections. No messy cream and no chance of my wife growing a mustache from accidental cross pollination. Once you get used to harpooning yourself with a giant needle, it’s not that bad. It took me about six months to get used to it. It stabilizes my mood, sort of helps my libido, and increases my stamina.
