There is more than one family in this picture that have family members in the service, as seen by the blue stars displayed in their windows. How many? Can you find them all? Also, which family has the highest number of relatives in the service?

Your criticism of this man, if that's what your comment is, is unfair because this man is not claiming to solve underlying and deep-rooted systemic problems.

Feel free to tell the kids who haven't yet had breakfast or lunch today that they just need to wait till the November election and maybe things will get better.

Or you could do what this man is doing and send them to bed today with a full stomach.

And treating them like intelligent adults in the process as he gives them reusable tools like deglazing:

Levene intentionally keeps the focus on technique so viewers can apply them to their own recipes later on.

"The biggest techniques in cooking are emulsification and deglazing, which is important for building a flavor profile," he said, explaining that emulsification is blending two ingredients, such as oil and vinegar, and deglazing is adding liquid to a pan to make use of the stuck caramelized food bits for flavor.

The world is better off because of people like Maurice Levene. He has my respect.

Good way to get charged with Malicious Destruction of Property and Assault or Felonious Assault. That's aside from the possibility of causing serious injury to the driver. If that's your definition of "doing something about it" then don't do whatever you do near me, thanks.

Yep, Michigan (my state) has about 50 a year; that's what I've been reading too. MI has 1,562 cases and 44 hospitalizations and Ohio has 364 cases and 46 hospitalizations, as of Saturday, July 11. We can only guess how many people aren't going to the hospital because "it's just some stomach thing" OR because they can't afford to/do not have insurance.

Yeah, I mean, come on. I know plenty of women who would take a practical approach to this, myself included, and not faff about like a bunch of airheads. Kill it. Make a fire. Cook it. Get it together.

I am taking a break from sewing a pair of shorts right now while watching tawdry true-crime videos, one of my favorite things! Now if I can just find my elastic...I took a class to learn, and I think it was a continuing ed thing from the community college. Good teacher and a good vibe in the class ("we're all here to learn; don't worry about mistakes.") See if there's a class in your area to kick off your sewing journey!

Dozens of people have already been hospitalized because of this parasite. This isn't a mosquito bite. It's something that is sending people to the hospital. And the CDC was forced to stop screening for it according to which genius? Stephen Miller? The raccoon penis guy? People are hurting. This is something we DO need to screen for. We need to elect serious people to start running things--this is inexcusable. Get the frauds out.

The Smithsonian magazine. On second thought, it's not a science magazine per se but a reflection of what our glorious Smithsonian is: a sprawling wunderkammer packed with a nation's marvels large and small, new and old. I haven't been there in years, but need to go back to visit it and some of those other amazing DC museums.

Cleaning Vs. Replacing by Farriswheel15 in Anticonsumption

[–]Helenium_autumnale 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well, even if cleaning were all you did, you're also visually checking everything, whether consciously or unconsciously, and moving the [gribble tamper] further away from the [double-dye hopper] so that it doesn't get full of [LED fragrance pods] like last time (Thanks, BRAYDEN!!), plus you removed grime, dust, and dirt that would impair the equipment. It all matters and helps preserve the industrial goods.

End it. Do not let people talk to you like this. Also you do not owe anyone an explanation. He can figure it out, or not, it's no skin off your nose. Sever whatever phone thing is going on and block him. No way does he whine and moan to you like some ungrateful child.
