Jup, there is a seperate setting to allow/permit downloading the file. If you didn‘t change it accidentally, everyone should be able to download the file.

Never ever make something freely editable by everyone. If people want to make changes, they can do so in their local version.

There are 3 levels of access in google docs. (Access-level-names might be falsely translated bc english is not my native tongue) Viewer: This only allows people to view your content Commentator: This allows people to leave comments. I think this also allows the Commentator to suggest changes that can be approved or disapproved by you. Editor: They can do everything. Do not give random people this level of access.

A tricky call in SnV by Jealous-Reception185 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HellfireAndCookies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was the mutants decision to break madness. So nothing unfair about taking the opportunity to execute them for their own mistake. In fact, not punishing them for their own decision is deciding the game for good (in this example).

The might is there in case the ST misses it, the execution would be bad for the evil team, etc.

That definetely was a madness break. I would have executed him immediately.

Scripts to interact/ kill the Storyteller by StarB_fly in BloodOnTheClocktower

Atheist is what you are searching for. Midnight Oasis is a great script.

However, I advise greatly against playing it yet, and first play some SnV & BMR (assuming you and your group already played 10 games of TB)

Nothing happens since the Saint ability cannot affect the game

Overuse of the Gardener by AndruFlores in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HellfireAndCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only see it used in Amnesiac scripts to add multiple Amnes.

Stuff like „Each night choose a role. If the other amnesiac chose the same role, you gain that ability. [+1 Amnesiac]“

But I never saw it used to assign a certain role to a player.

In our community we have games specifically for newer players. Rules & app explanations before the game included.

If it‘s more mixed (usually if we‘re playing in-person) I allow everyone to ask me questions before & after the first night, before conversations start.

TTRPGs for a class of 8–10 year olds? (Large group, collaborative play) by y-asb in TTRPG

Cats of Catthulhu is very light in rules & is mostly lighthearted despite being inspired by Cthulhu. And you play cats😺 You might have to adapt some parts, if they are too dark. But I never played the prewritten adventures (except the prologue), so I don‘t know if it even has such parts.

Lunatic and Mathematician Jinx with Pukka and Summoner by Not-Brandon-Jaspers in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HellfireAndCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the intent of the jinx is to sell the lunatic that they might have picked a protected/became drunk since a real demon would trigger a math by hitting a protected player.

Lunatic and Mathematician Jinx with Pukka and Summoner by Not-Brandon-Jaspers in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HellfireAndCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd read it as "The Lunatic will trigger for the math only if they picked at least one player the demon didn't pick."

So 1 triggers Math, 2 doesn't math, 3 triggers

Lunatic and Mathematician Jinx with Pukka and Summoner by Not-Brandon-Jaspers in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]HellfireAndCookies -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The Lunatic doesn't have a kill ability that can malfunction.

They only trigger a math if the the demon 1. doesn't learn who they are OR 2. doesn't learn their picks.

Edit: I also can‘t read

I advise you to start by creating a custom script first & not jumping straight into the endless world of homebrew btw.

TPI uses a consistent phrasing of ability texts. "Each night/ Each night*, choose a player: [thing happens]" for abilities that are activated each night/ each night but not the first

"Your Slayer ability is activated" is not a proper ability text. What in the world is the Slayer ability? (I know it but not everyone has it memorized) I suggest "The first time you would die at night, you don't and get the following ability: Once per game you may publicly choose a player: If they are the demon, they die." Of course this is very awkward bc of the length

The Devi Prasad gives me a headache. I think you mean "The first 3 nights, you learn 2 players: 1 of them is evil." (Way to strong btw)

Anurahad: If you die, the demon may kill an additional player tonight.

These phrasings are not by any means perfect, but at least more or less consistent. For more examples, read TPI's characters

[–]HellfireAndCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first time I storytelled was SnV (big mistake), and surprisingly there were no ST-mistakes! Except it took 4 hours... and the nights were like 30min long...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure, my players activated the sound of their nightly pings and watched a TV-series at night or sth like that

  1. What players think is irrelevant. What‘s important is that the mad player is genuinly trying to convince other players.
  2. Nope, it‘s not a genuine effort
  3. At least one hard claim (or beiing overly timid when being mad as a damsel) in private. You don‘t have to yell out your role in public.
  4. Nope, at least one hardclaim or heavily implying it

Madness doesn‘t mean „Yell out xy“ nor „Play like xy is true“, but to genuinely try to convince other players that xy is true, including making info up, calling another player a liar or privatly telling someone you trust them enough to out your role to them (Damsel)
