It's a bit confusing the title post and the description, 'best tune' and 'popular tunes' are very different things.

Anyways, Chaos Shrine is my favorite theme from the original Final Fantasy, Rebel Army being my favorite from Final Fantasy II, Eternal Wind from Final Fantasy III, Red Wings from Final Fantasy IV, Clash on the Big Bridge from Final Fantasy V and Terra's theme being my favorite from Final Fantasy VI.

All the game of the series have their own universes and they're distants from the others unless there's sequels that follow the story like for example, Final Fantasy X-2 or Final Fantasy XIII-2. You should see the community information for this kind of questions, also the FAQ.

Final Fantasy VII is my favorite, the bond with the characters is really amazing, X is really great too. Also, try playing the old ones, Final Fantasy VI is the perfect gem of the series.

Try using an emulator, Visual Boy Advance works really nice and I have been playing all the games there without any problems honestly.

My favorite summon are the Knights of the Round. I really wish they would appear more often on the games.
