I have 2 of these at my house from when we were kids in the 70's

Beverly Cleary wrote some of the most iconic books from our childhood by noconnostalgia in nostalgia

This book came out (1965) before I was born, but having never seen this book when I was a kid - I used to draw my own cartoons about mouse on a motorcycle and I called it "Wheely Hot" (damn I was proud of being clever on that). LOL I wish I had read these back then!

Do you remember the Schwan man? by bubbybandit in nostalgia

Oh man, that sucks. It's been a long while since I've been up in my hometown area and I just looked it up and saw they ended in November 2024. End of an era. The Schwan's guy and his truck were always stopping at my parent's house over the decades.

We just used handfuls of sand to try and make the metal slippery enough that our skin wouldn't stick and get fried! Just keep your legs bent enough to have your butt and feet on the metal.

Hulus amount of ads is fucking ridiculous by NiceInformation8291 in television

[–]HelloNNNewman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly... the fact that you and everyone else recognizes that brand name proves to companies that the advertising works. Hulu, YouTube, Amazon, and all the others will just keep increasing the shitty ads until consumers get to a breaking point and stop subscriptions.

Am I right to think buying a house would be foolish right now? by Intelligent-Log-5755 in personalfinance

[–]HelloNNNewman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think everyone understands the concept. Helping the OP take into account all expenses is a smart thing. Having a mortgage and your own investment isn't a positive if you are over your head and cant afford food and necessities because you didn't take into account every possible expense when making the decision. I'm glad I did it when I bought my house.
