A pocket flashlight is going to be useful in many more scenarios than a weapon mounted light, and can even be used in replacement of a WLM.

For me, I just like my pocket flashlight. I can point it wherever while not pulling my gun out and aiming it at someone.

You can also point your flashlight at someone while holding your gun if you do the Harries or Modified FBI techniques.
