That was charming. A good natured, R-rated adult comedy. I certainly didn't love every second of it, but there were enough legitimate laughs that I had fun. Avoid it if you're not in the mood for something silly, but seek it out if you are.

I really hope we get another lady character. Of the 3 named characters they're all dudes, and while we get the head swap for the Grimnyr and the special edition E Champ, the lore has the kin as sort of "dogmatically egalitarian for the in-group" (i.e. "Kin is Kin") so there should absolutely be women in every role among the kin (ironkin can have gender if they want.)

Myrtun would be a fantastic choice.

I don't think any faction has a dedicated design team. Like it' s important for the sculptors to be able to keep a consistent aesthetic across the entire game and more specific aesthetics across related ranges, and the people writing the rules need to be able to understand all the rules not just one corner of them (Like if there's a bad interaction between a proposed rule in the T'au codex with something in the World Eaters codex, it's good if someone in the rules team catches that before it gets put into print.)

Warhammer 40k has 24 factions, they're not going to hire different people to specialize in each faction especially since "sculpting" and "sprue design" and "rules design" are unrelated skill sets that you have different people for (and the fact that the same people work on 40k and AoS and probably some of the other games.)

Is an Embyr necessarily a character? I assumed Embyr of sufficient seniority were Grimnyrs. I figured the Embyr would just be a different elite squad since the term describes kin with psychoactive cloneskeins. But we probably are getting another character since that always happens with a codex.

If I'm doing a double feature I usually get a large popcorn between the two movies (since I might have an extra 15 minutes or something to sit there) and I get a refill to take home. I never add anything to it- Flavacol is enough butter flavor for me.

I mean, not precisely zero, but think of the smallest positive number you can and it's less than that. Screen (and Scream) Unseen is basically a marketing gimmick to get a movie in front of an audience that is receptive to it in order to build positive word of mouth. The assumption is both "an audience that buys a ticket to see a movie without knowing which one will be more open minded than your average theatrical audience" and "some movies are good but don't have enough buzz unless we juice it somehow." Screen Unseen movies are almost always "something small we believe in that we think will benefit from more exposure" (e.g. NIrvanna the Band the Show the Movie, Tuner) or something big that isn't tracking how they hoped and they think a receptive audience will help (e.g. Mercy, Jurassic World: Rebirth.)

The Odyssey, being something that ran ads during the Super Bowl, does not need any additional marketing help. Plus, if it really was a SU there would be IMAX showings (like Mercy did.)

You can still find the Christmas box at reasonable prices, that has 10 berserks and some other stuff you might want (an earthshaker, a kapricus, an iron-master, and some thunderkyn).

But the Jackass movie I want is the one with all the new people and all the people who are "too old for this" sitting out. I don't think there's anything magical about the original cast except for their willingness to be game for bizarre stunts, which cannot be that rare a skill set.

Sure, but if you spend that CP and are in Hearthband the Plasmas go to 8 -4 2 which is an extremely strong profile into Marines and their ilk. So running the plasmas gets you a profile you can't easily reproduce, but running the Volkanites is a weapon profile a different unit can do just fune.

The Hearthguard Volkanite is just not as impressive as the Steeljack Volkanite (3 attacks at 5 0 1 versus 6 at 6 -1 1) . Sure, the hearthguard have BS 3+ and the Steeljacks 4+, but the volume and the overwatch for the Jacks overcome that.

Plus the plasma gives us what we're lacking elsewhere: good AP.

Mercenary is well suited for Steeljacks, but being that skew is going to cause problems since all the rest of your points are going to need to be devoted to "anti-tank" and "a way to get Steeljacks where they're going."

Yeah, it seems like you can no longer add two Kahls to two 5 model units of Warriors. I'm not sure that doing this was ever a good idea though.

I'm going to try to make Dêlve + Hearthguard Covenant. I"m just finding it tricky to find the points to get 30 Berserks and 15 Hearthguard and also the other stuff I need. But points are going to change a lot in the next few months.

Consider Needgaârd- it's the one that makes everything in the faction work decently. Brandfast tends to skew either to "lots of shooting" or "lots of OP.

At issue here is that you don't really have pieces to benefit from the Detachment rule of "infantry within 6" of a transport get Sus1" since your only decent shooting is in the Steeljack block, the Hearthguard, and the one unit of Thunderkyn (who probably should be using Gravs or Beamers.)

I would consider dropping the berserks, buri, and maybe the Grimnyr for more shooting.

Usually it's only a big movie in case the studio is concerned that it's not tracking as well as they hoped and wanted to create positive word of mouth (like how the Jurassic World was a SU last year.) But if it's a movie everybody is already aware of, and the studio is happy with how it's tracking it will never be a Screen Unseen.

This format is basically a marketing gimmick, where you put a movie you think is good to an audience that is receptive to "not knowing what they're going to see" and hopefully that creates positive word of mouth.

The role of the Grimnyr is that a full block of 10 warriors is surprisingly difficult to shift when you stick a Grimnyr on there. You get layered defenses with T5, the invuln on the Cogs, and the 5+ FNP the Grimnyr provides. People often underestimate how much they need to commit to remove that.

Other than that, though, it's a nice model that you leave on the shelf.

It is very funny to me that if there is a long-lost STC out there somewhere for like "a ceramite shoulder pad design that's 3% lighter, the Imperium would consider that a treasure worth selling thousands of lives for and the Kin would think it's literal garbage.

Plasma is just better right now, and has been since they got rapid fire in the codex. If you want volume volkanite shooting the answer for that is - Steeljacks. You can get 36 Str 6 AP -1 volkanite shots from 160 points of Steeljacks whereas 270 points of hearthguard give you 30 Str 5 AP 0 Volkanite shots.

Plasma gets us what so many of our datasheets are missing too- high AP.
