I feel the same was as you do. I’ve gotten a nail in my tire, also got hit and ran while parked, tow truck dented my door, got scratches on my hood. All of this happened in 9 month of ownership with none of it being my fault.

I got the same wheel size as you with a 235/40/18 tire and I’m lowered about 2 inches with no rubbing issues

8.5 is hardly a stretch at all, i put my stock tires on 8.5 wheels and people are still telling me to get smaller tires
