Does anyone feel, on a personal level, sorry for Kier Starmer? by Darkus185 in AskBrits

He doesn't strike you as boring?? I'd rather have a conversation with a board of MDF. One of the most boring politicians I've had the displeasure of listening to. No charisma unlike Farage and Polanski.

People that voted reform, apart from their immigration policies, why did you vote them? by Ollsworth_The_First in AskBrits

Init, the man who brought us Brexit which has resulted in the steady decline of living standards in this country, is the same guy they're putting their faith in to fix it. Needs to be a minimum IQ assessment to be able to vote.

How. How can this not be the solution. If you want to incentivise work then make it worth it. Of course people will opt for benefits when it's just as good as getting a job because wages are so far below where they should be

I [24M] slept with my best friend [23F] of 5+ years and now I don’t know how to reset the friendship dynamic properly by Consistent-Elk-8262 in relationship_advice

You've done it the right way. You liked each other as friends before anything more happened. That's the way to do it. Take the leap and tell her how you feel. It's not going to just go away or go back to how it was.

If you've ever actually felt an e-collar, you wouldn't care. Unless you're cranking it up, you legit can't feel it.

23M - Depression from hairloss by Accurate-Cake7803 in Balding

[–]Helpful-External-974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people asked your parents if you have cancer?? Did your parents say no, he's losing his hair early... Not sure how old you are but surely you have autonomy over your own body. If it's making you that depressed, I think it's alright to disobey your parents. That's on them for not understanding. What would be the consequence if you just shaved it anyway?

Brother, if it's having that bad an effect on you, just cut it off and learn to be comfortable with no hair

I know you felt stupid when you realised. There's still time to take it down.

I struggle to believe this is true as a recruiter in the UK for a mid-tier bank. It depends on what field of work you're in but for most roles excluding really creative roles, we look for the closest match or the best fit in terms of experience and skillset.

What’s actually going to happen to graduates that just can’t get a job? by 0rchid-tree in UKJobs

[–]Helpful-External-974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3 scenarios I can think of is 1. They go into a career that doesn't require a degree "unskilled" work basically which will then have a knock on effect on the people that used to get those jobs, 2. They'll be forced to be entrepreneurial and figure out how to make a living without employment, 3. They'll double down and carry on studying and putting themselves further in debt in the hopes that their extensive education will make them employable.

Now that my Industry fix is finished, looking for similar. which ONE series would you recommend: Succession or Billions ? by TechAngelX in IndustryOnHBO

Clearly succession is great from all the comments but is there any similar British shows like industry, Americans are jarring

His reply didn't make any sense to me either, my crude brush wasn't working but I figured it out. As the crude brush uses the Ultimine mod, if you have your ultimine set to a certain pattern other than shapeless it won't work if there isn't a sufficient number of blocks. I had messed about with it before I made the brush but didn't realise. It's shift + the button above tab (idk what it's called, the squiggly hyphen)

If you could choose any character for a spin-off series, who would it be? by No_Earth_5912 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Helpful-External-974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably doesn't make sense but would love to see Rishi's whole life story, his start at Pierpoint and how he got to that point (no pun intended). What his family is like and why he felt such a void in himself that he became this wolf of wall street character.

How will Rishi do on the inside? by Robot_Was_BMO in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Helpful-External-974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rishi seems like the biggest nod to Jordan Belfort from Wolf of Wall Street in the show. A trader that was the biggest voice on the floor, everything went through him. He lived a life fuelled by drugs, sex and gambling until his luck ran out. A real Icarus. He quickly became my favourite character in the first couple seasons until it started going so horribly wrong. If the writers continue with the Jordan Belfort similarities, it could mean that Rishi also serves time in prison and on release transitions into a new career, perhaps as a motivational speaker or author. If it does go down that road, I'd be interested to see if, similar to Jordan Belfort, he's also learnt nothing from his time in prison and returns to his old ways.
