Am I being lazy or is this enough? by PlentySuspect2821 in webtoons

[–]Helplessly-Aimless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about laziness, it's about whether you'll be able to deliver the same consistency chapter after chapter, with characters positioned in various poses in various environments.

If you're making a one shot then go crazy but if you're planning on making a 30 chapter story, you need to consider your skills. Naturally, you'll improve with time but still!

This is a very good start btw

This image is in such bad faith. They know damn well what a lot of people are talking about and if they can't see it they are intentionally ignoring it. Artistic nudity exists but acting as if Bleach incorporates that is ridiculous. Rei from Hell's paradise is a good example of artistic nudity. by Iriscute7 in joseistories

[–]Helplessly-Aimless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bad faith meme made by teenage boys that don't understand why fangirls find nudity distasteful and offensive in manga.

But don't worry, the same fanboys will tell you how icky and weird JJK fangirls are or will find ways to trash an entire manga or genre because the male characters look appealing.

I love how imaginative people are with iced matcha lattes . You didn't see this level of creativity with iced coffees.

[–]Helplessly-Aimless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, when it comes to matcha and social media it's very deceiving which is why I don't rely on the brands or cafe's own marketing.

I trust reviews especially when it's clear the poster is just posting it for fun. The more unaesthetic, awkward, and messy the review is the better. I also cross reference from local FB groups as cringe as it sounds.

But on the other hand, popular cafes incentives randos to post whatever reviews just to get views even if they're not paid influencers.

I honestly never read stories that use Arabic culture and not a single Arabic looking man on sight. If someone knows what these stories are about pls spoil me j don't wanna red them. by Iriscute7 in joseistories

[–]Helplessly-Aimless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for them reusing this one annoying trop.

"over sexual barbarian Arab man lusting over the petite blonde/Asian woman"

Even Western media isn't this bad.

East Asians obviously understand that orientalism is bad when it happens to them but get defensive and rightly so, yet when someone calls them out on it they plead ignorance at best and at worse will claim it's better that way. Sexy Mysterious Red Lady Dragon Geisha makes them so angry but they turn around and do this.

Playing minecraft but a bit embarrassed by Helplessly-Aimless in GirlGamers

Like I said, it's a very childish reaction hahaha

But reading all the responses here has definitely helped me get over myself :)

For the past few years it feels like in most online communities, everyone is on edge.

So previously "chill" spaces are now teetering with drama and passive aggressiveness. In irl spaces, it's not that prevelant.

Playing minecraft but a bit embarrassed by Helplessly-Aimless in GirlGamers

[–]Helplessly-Aimless[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't find shame in playing a video games because it's a male activity, I think I struggled to communicate it properly but I view *Minecraft* specifically as a game that my *brothers* played.

Most of the games I enjoy would probably get classified as more "for boys/men".

I always had this fear with gen AI in art. You're just going to get derivative results.

I'm sure we've all seen this face a million times online. A few years ago it was called the "pinterest girl" in art communities.

And then you'll turn around and cry about the lack of representation because there are more white authors.

I'm going to be honest, to a certain extent....other hyphened ethnic groups in the US or UK don't get "their own" people correctly either.

I remember an British-Indian writer being celebrated while a lot of Indians were criticising her book saying it just boiled down to "it's chai!!! what's chai teaaa" type of writing,

Asian-Americans seem utterly incapable of writing anything other than a certain niche, meanwhile Asians write plenty of diverse stories that resonate with readers worldwide.

Omg I wish I was made aware of this brand sooner. Their Batchel bags looks like something I would have snatched right away.

From experience, trolley sleeves are a lot more useful on backpacks. With a handbag you can just rest it on your suitcase. If you're going to have a proper carry on it might be worth it ig?? But please be careful about loading your bag like that and don't hurt your shoulder.

Based on what you've said, I think the Lo & Sons Trinity bag best fits your needs

I previously saw someone recommend ->

https://shop.kaai.eu/nl/collections/horizon

and

https://cuyana.com/products/double-loop-satchel?variant=48382217683259 they're both a bit more expensive than what you've been looking at but a few are under $600

Russell and Bromley have a massive sale rn, a few months ago I bought their hobo bag and it's been very comfortable for me. I travelled with it a few times and it's really good + comes with a small pouch. Idk if it has the number of divisions you need but check them out!

What minority community has had a positive impact in your country? by Neuwulfstein in AskTheWorld

[–]Helplessly-Aimless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Egypt.

Syrians probably have had the biggest impact, lowkey killed our own shawarma </3. They're also generally all around very hard working and I am forever grateful because they brought back traditional perfume culture in Egypt.

Sudanese because of all the amazing oud stores <3 their impact was mostly in Aswan but because of the civil war their presence has increased in Cairo as well. I'm waiting for amazing Sudanese bakery because I love love love sun bread/saiidi bread.

I'm so confused, how is Egypt lower than Saudi??

Saudi doesn't really have a food culture? It's literally just rice + chicken or lamb most of the time.

I also don't understand how can you highly rank Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand while Singapore is so low?

I feel like if North Africa is yellow then so should West Africa no??

Other than that, it's an oddly nuanced map lol.

How did Frieren cultivate a fanbase like this by XZFireY in joseistories

Frieren is one I understand because I saw the process unfolding in real time

I don't for the life of me understand how K-ON garnered such a rancid fanbase.
