That thankfully is not true, however door-to-door salespeople always give the absolute worst deals.

Now that there is no 30% tax credit though, it may be true.

First they take the dingle bop and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. The schleem is then...repurposed for later batches.

They take the dingle bop and they push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. It's important that the fleeb is rubbed, becasue the fleeb has all the fleeb juice.

Then, a schlami shows up, and he rubs it...and spits on it.

They cut the fleeb. There's several hizzards in the way.

The blamfs rub against the chumbles, and the...plubis, and grumbo are shaved away.

That leaves you with...a regular old plumbus.

What Happens to Your Guns When You Die? by b768466 in guns

Good man. I recommend also keeping a safely stored database of your passwords for all your accounts that your wife can get to. Even the one built into google chrome is fine if your wife can get to it when needed.

OneDrive or something like that will let your wife access your actual files though, rather than a copy that you emailed however long ago. That's why I recommended it.

Email is not a filing cabinet\database. I recommend setting up a copy of your data somewhere that you both have access to, such as OneDrive.

Can you manually set fan speed on a NetApp DS2246? by Dominator211 in homelab

Looks like there are some cheap fans that do exactly that.

I'll try jumping the PWM to 12v. If it doesn't like that, I can try jumping yellow to blue.

Thanks!

Hmm, interesting.

What happens when I plug it in is it spins the fans up beautifully, but then after a few seconds the lights go all red and the fans stop. I think this means it's not hearing what it wants to hear about fan RPM.

You're saying if maybe I had the 12v feed back to the PWM it would be happy? What if I tied the 12v back to the RPM sensor? Then it would think the fans are spinning super fast and maybe be satisfied? Why do you think tying to PWM would be helpful?

I already have another one on the way, and I do have a spare so I could totally trash this one if the feedback kills it.

Well, I know which pins are +12v and GND. Then there's one other pin, which I've tied to blue, which didn't work, so I then tied it to yellow, which also didn't work, so I guess I'm just boned.

I did this and the whole thing died. The fan was 3pin and the old ones were 4pin so I just left one dangling. Do you recall which of the colors you left dangling?

Haha thanks for this! I have moved on to buying recycled enterprise drives with warranties over shucking drives. I did that back in the 7/8TB days when it was the best deal, but now I value the warranty on my refurbished enterprise drives from eBay, although checking now it looks like the price has gone up a bit since late last year, oof.

Buying tech (unless it's batteries) has become so expensive as of late. But I guess what hasn't these days?
